Can anyone give me any information on the Grand 1 Wishes Cruise. I'm really wondering how well you can see since the boat looks closed in to me. Also, has anyone ever had dessert on the boat? Thanks for all your help!!

Grand One Yacht is 400.00 per hour.

It is 200.00 per extra 1/2 hour and 400.00 per extra hour.

It does hold 13 people max.

You would need to call the Grand Floridian Marina direct at 407 824 2439

This can be booked 90 days in advance.

Haven't found a picture yet but found this on MousePlanet

A new Grand One, the luxury yacht at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, now is sailing around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.

The new boat replaces the previous Grand One yacht. It's a 48-foot-long, 48-motor Sea Ray that can reach speeds of up to 36 miles per hour. It features three fully furnished staterooms, a small kitchen, and dining area, a microwave oven, heating and air conditioning, a 12-kilowatt generator that can light up three houses, four televisions, and a Bose audio system. Should the yacht ever leave the lagoon and lake area, a satellite link to the Global Positioning System can track the Grand One within a foot, anywhere on the planet.

Thank you so much for the information!!

I have just returned fro the GF. Have they changed the Grand 1 yacht? I didn't see the yacht that is usually there. They had another large boat, but I didn't think it was a yacht. :confused3

Marla--Actually the Grand 1 holds 16 guests. I've taken it out for fireworks three times, it's a fantastic experience.

You can either sit down below or up on the bridge area, or out on the bow area. The cabin is fully enclosed and climate controlled, and contains two heads, three staterooms, a galley, and a salon. Up on the bridge area they can zip up the plastic environment protector to keep it warm or cool as the weather requires.

We ordered the cheese platter and a bottle of wine for our first fireworks cruise, which was before dinner. The second time we had dessert (Cindy's slippers and birthday cake with juice, soda, water, and champagne) and the last time we had Cindy's slippers and wine. I think we'll probably do it again next year.

Have they gotten the wishes music on board yet?

We just did Grand 1 during our trip in May and we had a wonderful time. We had purchased a couple of bottles of wine and took it to the Concierge Desk in the main lobby early in the day and they turned it over to room service. when we arrived, they came iced down, chilled glasses and ready to go. There was a fee but that's cool..

The boat is very beautiful, and the folks working the boat were just great. This is our 3 or 4th time on Grand 1 and we will be doing it again in 2007 when we have a family reunion.

If the cost is not overwhelming.. go for it. It's a great way to enjoy an evening of cruising and fireworks.

How long were you out for the Wishes Cruise and I have always tipped the Breathless driver in the past, how do you all handle it with the Grand 1. Do you tip the driver, the crew, or not at all?

I split 20% between the two. Once it was even because I thought the first mate did an outstanding job with the children in our party, and the other two times it was about 13% to the captaina nd 7% to the first mate who didn't really do much but sit there.

Thank you ducklite! Were you out much longer than an hour? Did you feel rushed at all?

The first time we booked for an hour, and they actually kept us out for about 80 minutes, and didnt' rush us off when we returned. The second and third times we were out for two hours, and again didn't feel rushed.

Anne

I'm assuming that means you really didn't feel like the one hour was enough.....am I correct? That's what I've been wondering....if I should book for two hours. I was thinking of having dessert and beverages on board.

The hour was fine, but we would have liked it to be longer. It's what fit the budget at the time, and anything is better than nothing :)

If I had the choice, 1 1/2 hours to two hours would be more to my linking. OF course a couple weeks would work too LOL!
