Grand 1 Wishes Cruise

Is it the same price if you do it during wishes?

We'll actually have 16 adults and 9 children (4 are babies). I'm guessing Disney won't allow this? We could do adults only for this one.....but it would stink to leave the kids out of something so cool....I don't know!!!

What other options do we have?

Yes, same price for Wishes. I don't think there is any way at all you are getting 25 people on there but it doesn't hurt to try/ask. Other options are to book pontoons for Wishes or have a Wishes dessert party.

Photos of the yacht taken when we celebrated our one year dating anniversary at Disney. We had a cake and champagne aboard.

I charter the Grand1 when we go to Disney, usually just for my wife and I. It's the same price during Wishes as during any other time. The new boat is beautiful, and the experience is unlike any other at Disney. However, there is absolutely no way you could or would want to put 25 people on that boat. Like a previous poster said, I would think about 13 adults would be the max for people to see the fireworks. Most of the Grand1 is indoors except for the back area of the boat, so if you are looking for something where many people can socialize outside you should look elsewhere. I wouldn't even charter it for 16 adults...I just think it is too many to have a good time comfortably AND for everyone to see the fireworks.

Dining off the back of the boat is beautiful, but I have also had dinner at Narcoossee or elsewhere before heading over to the dock. I normally schedule dinner about 1.5 hours before we are to arrive at the dock for the Wishes cruise (really depends on where and how fast you eat). Keep in mind that if you dine on the boat a butler is required and you will pay an additional fee of like $75 to $100 (can't remember).

More than anything, when you pay for the Grand1 you want to be able to enjoy it. I think trying to pack more than 13 or so people onto the boat for a wishes cruise is asking too much, and will only serve to disappoint you and at least a few people who won't be able to enjoy the fireworks.:thumbsup2

Are you able to take your own snacks and sodas on board or do they have to be purchased from Disney?

Well, I am not sure if there is an official policy on it, but things are very laid back and relaxed when you get to the dock. If you had a bag with chips, sodas, etc. I don't think it would be a problem at all (unless you're bringing a case of beer in which case it might be different). It may also be different if you are bringing drinks and snacks for lots of people. I just don't know because I have never done it. You're only on the boat for an hour (for a Wishes cruise), and normally that is right after dinner. We have brought bottled water with us, but never snacks, etc.

Note that, like another poster mentioned, you can get cake and champagne delivered to the boat and have that (without paying for the aforementioned butler--he is for dining).

We had 15 adults and 2 kids when we used the Grand 1 after our Escape wedding dinner last April. We had everyone outside for the fireworks and did have plenty of room. We kept the sliding door downstairs open the whole time, and some people did sit inside while we were cruising around bay lake and the 7 seas lagoon, but when we parked for Wishes about 6 of us went up to the 2nd level to watch and the other 11 stayed down below. It's all open, so we could all see and talk to each other even though we weren't all on the same deck. It was great. We actually had 2 other family members at dinner who didn't go to the grand 1 with us because they told us there was no way we could have 19 people. I really wish we'd just showed up and tried since it seems like they wouldn't have noticed, but we didn't want to chance it on our wedding day.

The official policy - at least last year - is that you cannot bring any food and drink with you. They wouldn't even let us bring waters.

For the poster that has the group of 25, I would say though that another 7 people, even if they're kids, would have been really crowded and it's likely not everyone would have been able to see Wishes.
