Gran nights versus grad season?

What is the deal with grad night? I was at the parks last week on a non-grad night day and yet the parks were filled with grads, some wearing caps and gowns. I saw busses dropping off hundreds of high schoolers. Does it matter if a day is "grad night" or not during graduation season?

Grad Nights are a specific party night offered for graduating high school seniors. High Schools can choose to participate; it isn't mandatory. Other schools may not participate in Grad Night, but might have a senior class trip. That may be what you saw with the bus loads of students. Graduation season is crowded in general, but we prefer to avoid Grad Nights if we can.

There are also several groups every day participating in Disney Performing Arts and many kids in those groups will be graduating 8th or 12th grade.
