Depending on the 18 yr olds (maturity levels differ from one to another)...Valium.

We did this for our DD and two of her girlfriends when they graduated from high school a couple of years ago. However, I went along and so did my best friend. The girls had their own studio so they had some independence but we were just 2 doors down the hall. One night the girls dressed up and went to Yachtsmen Steakhouse on their own while my friend and I went to Fantasmic at DS. They had a blast and so did my friend and I.

After what happened to Natalie Holloway in Aruba on a chaperoned school trip, I don't think I would want my DD or DS to even go to WDW without some supervision. Better to let them get some experience being on their own at college first. JMHO.

We sent my DD to WDW upon her HS graduation, and her best friend went with her. (They were at the Poly for 5 nights.) They were both responsible, independent, and mature. They had a great time, and since my DD knew her way around all parks, I didn't worry too much. (She did check in via the phone a few times.)

My son went this past June for his HS graduation with 2 friends. They spent 9 days there. Since my son has been going to WDW every year since his was 3 yrs old, I wasn't worried at all. He knows his way around the parks. We made some PS reversations and he stayed at Pop Century. I wouldn't have let him go if they stayed off-site. The also used Magical express both ways and had no problem.
