Grad trip for my daughter .. need special ideas!

Do you chose what Imagineer or do they just send one? For instance, my daughter is into animation/drawing so she'd flip out with excitement to speak with one of them. The Audio one is awesome, but I was curious if they pick for you. :goodvibes

You aren't able to choose. It's whichever Imagineer is scheduled for lunch on that day and you won't know until you arrive for lunch.

My son graduated this year, and our June trip was his big celebration.

- On our arrival night we had dinner at Narcoosee's and had a custom cake delivered to the table.
- After dinner we met friends at Top of the World Lounge (we are DVC members) and presented him with the graduation ears with his name on them. A friend got them for us ahead of time, because they tend to sell out. She also got him the 2014 grad pin (the collector pin from the gift shop, not the free Celebration button), and a 2014 grad photo frame.
- I ordered a "sash" for him that said "GRADUATE" and I made him wear it in the parks. ;)
- We had a private dessert party at Epcot, booked though the Events dept. at Boardwalk.
- We had Lunch With an Imagineer at Brown Derby.
- We did the "backstage Safari" tour at AK.
- I had a custom gift basket and balloons delivered to the room through Disney Floral.
- I bought "grad" theme stuff at Party City - table confetti, "2014" toothpick flags, etc. and pulled those out at different meals.

Have fun planning!!

The fireworks cruises are fun - we have done them several times.

My daughter will be graduating in June and she's asked for a family celebration in Disney rather than a huge grad party! Family from Arizona are planning to come out to help us celebrate. We've been to Disney a few times but haven't ever done anything really special (other than Tea at the Grand Floridian). What could I book that would be really super special for her and the family to do. It can be somewhere special to eat, or I know they used to have a dessert party (not sure if they still do). I know this is the ONLY place to post and ask since you all have spectacular ideas. We are looking to go after her birthday in early July but haven't ruled out August. It will definitely be summertime. TIA. :goodvibes
We are doing a trip for my son as well!! I am booking a meal at California Grill and am going to try to time it during Wishes. It is a great experience. You can even have a special cake made and they will serve it after the meal though the desserts there are good on their own.

Thanks for clarifying for the OP. I was surprised to see the age limits on All Ears because it had always been 14 for the last ten years. :confused3
As far as I remember, it was "recommended" for 14 and up, but there wasn't a prohibition on younger kids. I was able to book ADR's for it when DD was 11 and 13, and I've seen reports on the boards of people taking kids under age 10 in the past. The website now won't let anyone under 14 be added, which is different than the last time I booked it.

Ooh balloons! Great ideas. I really liked the idea of the nightime safari but we aren't staying at AK. Is the backstage safari tour the same..only for guests of AK?

Ah okay! I'm sure she would still love it since she's so artistic. :)

If she is in to art make sure to go to the Animation Academy and accompanying gift shop, lots of art stuff and how to draw character books. The parks have lots of caricature artists, maybe scope one out before hand and ask if they wouldn't mind talking to her about their art and how they got into it and such. They also sell caricature books.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort offers free drawing classes that are open to any Walt Disney World resort hotel guests. These classes currently occur at 11 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm. (I got this from Disney tourist blog)
