Grad Night

My family and I will be staying at WDW for the first time in May. We have a deluxe room at the Wilderness Lodge. I just found out Grad Night is at the same time on Fri an Sat of our stay. Has anyone encountered any problems with Grad Night partying at any of the resorts? We are very light sleepers with a 1 year old and 4 year old.

I believe you are safe. I read somewhere that the last grad night would be on Friday night, May 9, 2003.

"Disney Grad Nite 2003 promises to be the biggest and best Disney Grad Nite celebration yet! On April 25, 26 and May 2, 3, 9, high school senior classes will gather for an exclusive, all-night party in the Magic Kingdom® Park, featuring live performances by some of the hottest names on the charts!"

Does anyone know if they close the parks to these parties? We will be there for three grad nights it sounds like. Our trip is May 2nd-11th.

I wish I was in Disney now, we are snowed in.

I know they are closing Seaworld early - at 6:00 PM - because of grad night. Of course, it's the night I was planning on being there because I planned on staying at a hotel there for 1 night before going to Disney so that I didn't have to go back and forth.
Now I will just have the next morning before I check in at DW.

We've been there twice when they had Grad Nite! I saw NO Problem at all!! Our resort didn't seem any more crowded than any other day. And the kids that were there during those days were not a problem to us. However we were told that there WERE problems for the CM's during the Grad Nite itself. They were wild, and they did alot of no, no's (boy and girl stuff) and there were some fights. Smoking and drinking were also a Problem they said. But again, like I said during the weeks we were there it was Great. You got to figure, put Thousands of grad boys and girls together and there's bound to be some trouble makers. But they are locked in at the Magic Kingdom so it didn't bother us..So don't worry..

We will also be at WDW the first weekend in May. Grad Nights are at MK only, starting at 11 PM and ending at 5 AM. More information is here: www.floridafestivaltours.com/Grad Nite.asp

I've been at Disney for many a Grad Nite and never had a problem. It takes place after hours and the majority of kids are bused in and out. Disney also has dress code and chaperone restrictions (although I'm sure kids are always pushing the limits). It shouldn't have any noticeable effect on your trip except for the MK not being open late those evenings. You might possibly hear some of the entertainment drifiting across on the winds if you are at a MK hotel but that might be an enjoyable thing.
