If there's a Grad Night, how are the crwods during the day usually? I'm changing our itinerary around and forgot that Saturday is a Grad Night?

I was at WDW last year during the Grad Night festivities and found that on the afternnons of both Friday and Saturday crowds were not too bad at all at the MK. However DTD was mobbed both days. Also I found that on the Sunday in the late afternoon both MK and MGM were inundated with lots and lots of teenagers.
The mornings however were pretty light (up until noon, the MK got busy).

I find that this year I will also be at WDW during three of the four grad nights. So I will make sure to be up really early and get as much done as possible before the teens come out.

Just three days until I head for WDW.

Ok, so we'll be there next weekend and there are Grad Nights scheduled for Friday night and Saturday night. Maybe my schedule change putting us at MK on Saturday really isn't such a bad idea then? With Grad Night tickets can the students not get IN to the park until after it closes to the general public?

We are staying at POP for 8 nights. Our first full day is 4/23 so we thought instead of going to AK EMH. We would head to MK for the opening. It is our DS(4) first trip so I am planning on heading to Fantasyland first and see how far we get then probably head back to POP afternoon. We don't know how tired he will get by afternoon and I didn't want to go commando style with him. I didn't want to make him be at the bus stop at 7AM for AK. He usually wakes up normally at 7-7:30AM. With MK having short hours we thought maybe the locals and not too many off site tourists will not be at MK that Saturday during GRAD Weekends.

5 more days :cool1: :flower: :moped:

I'm thinking that's going to be our gamble, too. Plus, since we want to do a night at PI, the early closing will give us time to hit the hot tub at the hotel for a bit before we get ready to go out!

We are going to Epcot the day we arive. (April 29th) since we won't be ready to get the park until 5:00 and MK closes at 7:00. I am guessing that Epcot will be more busy then it normally would because of this. (no fireworks at MK so everyone will go over to Epcot.) The good news is Epcot handels laruge crowds well.

Saturday we plan to go to MK. I would think Grad night wouldn't be a problem at all since they will all be sleeping in the morning anyay. ;) We will do what we always do, leave when it gets too busy to enjoy. We have PS at Ohana's that night at 7:00 and MK closes at 7:00. I am little concerned about this, so I think we will leave MK in the afternoon, and then drive over to Ploy before 7:00 so we don't have to worry about transportation. (we have a rental car this time since we are going to Vero Beach for part of the week.)

Sunday we plan to do Mk in the morning again, then Epcot in the afternoon since we have PS for lunch ath Norway with some princesses! (1st time for that.)

I don't think it will be any more of an issue then any other trip. I think I will see lot's of those graduation hat's with Mickey ears on it. Come to think of it last year we were at Vero Beach last year the same week (1st of May) and didn't do the parks any, but did DTD and I do remember seeing alot of them.

Here is to going to WDW SOON! Now I have to start stressing overing paking. Oh wait, NO STRESSING this trip! :cool1: :goodvibes Oh well!

This will be our first experience with grad nights. As the parents of 3 teens, I dont think the teens themselves will bother me, I was just a little concerned since I read on another site, that for example one school was coming in a bus for the week end 200 plus kids and they had a schedule, like thurs. they will be at blizzard beach, and then the hoop de doo review etc. I just want to avoid large groups at once etc. We have the whole week there so I hope to do everything I want and just go with the flow. Guess we will get dtd out of the way earlier in the week etc.

With a 7pm closing, no Wishes and no Spectro, many will be discouraged from MK on grad nites. That's been our experience in the past. But, of course, crowd levels this year are considerably larger than those of the past four years. In any event, we'll be at MK this Friday for EMH and will probably stay until around 4pm.
