We have just received information that has us very upset & disappointed about some long time employees. They are are cheating us on time when they are installing, templating & making deliveries for us. We can not confront them directly yet without disclosing our source.

We want to add GPS tracking to our Nextel Phones. Does anyone have this? How does it work veiwing it online? Any info on the this will really help. I tried doing a google search. We want user feedback.

Question:

Do they drive company vehicles or their own?

There are systems out there that you can put gps devie in the vehicle this might work if they are driving company owned vehicles

You can put gps tracking on Nextel Motorola phones, the i730 for one. Go to www.ulocate.com You will need Total connect on the Nextel phone. Once the phone has been up and running with total connect for 24 hours, you can download the ulocate program from the "air". Go to Ulocate and set up an account. If you have a problem they have excellent customer service. You can also have the GPS and Ulocate running in the background so they may not know right away that you have done this. I would recommend that you program the phone to start Java apps and ulocate everytime the phone gets turned on. You can put a pin code into the gps so they cannot turn it off. The same with the ulocate. Good luck. Also, you can set up geofences so you will know when they enter and leave an area. It can send a text message to your phone each time.

DH's company has this on the phones of a couple of their employees. I'm pretty sure they are Nextel. I don't know the details, but I think there must be a website you can go to to see where your "target" is. Their receptionist's job is to keep track of where one guy in particular goes. Like you, they are gathering info for when they want to justify firing him.

Dh thinks it's great.

Dawn thanks for all the info. Have you ever tracked them on the computer? Does the pin keep them from turning the phone off?

I would love to see it in action.

You can track them on the computer but if they turn the phone off, the gps doesn't work. The pin prevents them from turning off the gps but not the phone. The signal is sent every 2 minutes. Sometimes there is an obstruction that hampers the signal but most of the time, it works like a charm. It came in very handy when DS #3 got lost driving a motor home to Pennsylvania for his job. He wasn't sure where he was and I was able to tell him. Oops,

Nextel offers this for a fee. You do not have to go to a third party web site. When our kids were teens and weren't always where they were supposed to be we activated it on our Nextel account and there was comfort in knowing where they were. If the site can not pinpoint the exact location of the phone, it gives you the closest tower. We loved it.

go to nextel web site. If you are the account manager you can add any feature with out them knowing about it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am adding this on Monday to two phones.
