I have a question- I ordered my gown and when I did the rep said that I needed the sample size which was a 10, the waist was a bit snug, but I am losing wt so no big deal right? ANyway, they did my measurements and said that acc to sz chart that I needed a bigger size. I asked how much bigger it would be in the bust, etc... she started talking about the 12 is an inch more here and there and I said so you are going up one size and she kind of brushed me off. I am a bit concerned - I have told you before that I worked at a bridal hop for 7 yrs and if a customer did not like the size, I would show them the size chart and so they would understand how much bigger etc. I do not know what size they ordered me, because the manager never said, I guess that I should call them, what do you think? I am just afraid that she went up 2 sizes which will be huge - I realize samples get stretched out, etc, what should I do?

I would call to know exactly what they ordered. It would be a nightmare if your dress was too big and it took weeks to get your actual size in.

This is why I never got my dress in a bridal shop. I'm a size 2 and I know its an ego thing, but I know I would be upset if someone said I needed a bigger number (I get that bridal sizes are different) I had my dress made and got my exact measurements in inches. It didn't make me feel like I was getting anything smaller or bigger than I was supposed to.

I would call them and aske then what size they ordered you. This is your big day and you should know what you are getting and not be stressed over it. If it would make you feel better maybe you should do and get remeasured. I hope everthing works out for you!!!! :wizard:

If I were you I would call and ask them point-blank what size they ordered and tell them if you're not happy with that size. I agree, 2 sizes up would probably be too big. The bridal boutique where I got my gown didn't have the size I ordered and I measured between 2 sizes so I tried on the smaller one (size 4) in a different style but same designer and it just fit. The bridal consultant I had, who was wonderful BTW, said it would fit fine in my style gown, but I was worried, and decided to go up one size. She said it could be taken in if necessary.

I had to sign a document that said "it is your responsibility to order the size you want, your bridal consultant cannot choose the size for you" but for me it was a no-brainer, I got the larger size because it's easier to take in than to let it out. In the end I decided not to have anything done to it and it was a little big but nothing too bad and I was comfortable in it. You know you want to be comfortable in your dress #1. I'm surprised she didn't answer you about the size, that's not very good customer service!

She was not the sales person I worked with- they sold the gown, the company rep was there and told the seamstress what he would sugguest and his sugguestions on size, then they came back in to measure me again, with the manager, who was snotty. I did not leave mad, because there was so much going on and when she kind of brushed me off, I was also answering my mom's question about something else. It was not until I got home and thought she really never told me what size. If they went up 1 size, then fine, but I am not sure that a 14 will work. Thanks fo rthe help!

Hey there!
Don't even stress out about it!
I went dress shopping on the day after Thanksgiving! My size at the time was a size 12 and I fit perfectly into a size 12 at Davids Bridal. My Disney wedding was on December 16th! So I told Davids Bridal to order me a SIZE 10 from another store. I was taking a huge risk, but I was not getting married unless I lost weight. (Stupid I know)
Well my dress came in on December 13th. The size 10 was too big! They had to alter my dress down TWO SIZES!
So in a matter of only 2 weeks, I went down 2 to 3 whole sizes. I was so proud of myself.
If you have a fast metabolism you can do it! All I did was eat salad and then ate whatever I wanted for dinner.
My dress came out beautiful!
Thanks and good luck with the weight loss!

Checked this morning, they ordered a 12, so I am ok with that. I just can't lose too much weight,. i really wanted a 10 but did not get there. I know thi swill be alterable. Thanks I feel much better and they said it would probably be shipped by July 21!!!
