Government discount for Dolphin/Swan

Anyone stayed at the Dolphin or Swan and recieved a government discount for the week of Easter? What would our chances be of getting one for this Easter break 2006? Would there be a lot of conventions that week?

In 2004 we got great rates for the Dolphin for our spring break. We were able to get the teacher discount and our friends got the government one. We're hoping to get a great rate again for spring break this year which happens to be the last week in March. I've been checking once a week to see if the D/S has released any discounts for 2006, but nothing yet. Good luck. By the way, when is Easter next year?

April 16th is Easter. I'm hoping for the discount....I'll keep checking.

We also got the govt. discount for our whole stay in 2004 at the swan at easter. This year I asked for like the last week of april which was the northeast spring break, out of like 8 days we only got 3 and then after a big back and forth thing with the swan they said they would honor lower rate days I found on the internet after I made the confirmed reservation. But after all that we switched to the poly with an ap rate for a little more $. I too am hoping for a good rate for then for our 2006 trip which is the spring break that happens to be during easter next year. Even if there are no discounts the price will probably be cheaper than a disney deluxe.

On the starwood website, they told us we had to print it out and bring it with us. We called the swan directly about this. I was getting sick and tired of them changing their price lower after they sent us the confirmation with a much higher rate that I made months earlier. I dont know if this is something they normally do or just because we called and my dh made a stink about it. At one time our original day was like $279, then we saw that one day on the internet for like $199, then it was for 2 more of the days etc. It was driving me nuts, we love the swan and have stayed there twice before but I decided to go with the poly and a nice ap rate in april since we are already going to the swan in dec. for dh conference.

Keep checking, they may not be released yet if they're going to have them.
