We've already paid for our hotel and tickets, but may have to cut back a little on the number of TS places that we had planned to eat. We'll be there for 8 days and our family consists of me, DH, DS(9), DS(7), and DD(2) - and my boys can eat! Any suggestions for good CS meals that consists of more than hamburgers & chicken fingers. I know about Tusker House and Flame Tree BBQ already, but could you share some other favorites of your family? Thanks.

I like Tangeriene Cafe and Yorkshire County Fish Shop in Epcot (Morocco and UK respectively).

For breakfast, I like Fountainview Cafe in Epcot FW.

I haven't tried it yet, but I plan on trying the Pizza Window at Spoodles on the Boardwalk this August.

Flame Tree and Tusker House are awesome as you already mentioned.

In MK, I like Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Ray's (huge variety, but try to eat off peak hours so as to have a more magical experience) and Pecos Bill's. (CR and PB both have fixin's bars.

There's nothing great at the Studios that I know of though. The burgers at Rosie's aren't great and I really disliked Pizza Planet's pizza, although it was cute. There's a new place with flatbreads- that's what I'd probably try there.

Good luck! I know I was appalled when I totaled up how much I'd spend in 2 weeks eating TS, and I ended up cutting back a few places as well. Although, I am still spending a small fortune.

If your family is mostly big eaters, consider buffets, too. Trail's End is great and low priced.

Columbia Harbor House is our favorite counter service restaurant. I just love their tuna and ham sandwiches.

One other alternative is the Plaza Restaurant. Although it is a sit down restaurant we found their prices to be not much higher than counter service!

In Epcot, the CS in Mexico is really good. The portions are also rather large, you may be able to share. I also like the fish and chips place in the UK and the Patisserie in France. The food court in the land also has a lot of options.

In Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich has really good salads and sandwiches. The sandwiches are also pretty big, you may be able to share them as well.

Enjoy your trip!

We love to eat breakfast at the resorts, dont ask me why but the scrambled eggs and biscuit is my fav! It is not expensive either, I get the kids breakfast. Much cheaper than eating at a TS

For Epcot I agree with Tangerine Cafe, the rotisserie chicken with rice is enough for 2 to share. China has delicious egg rolls and other entrees. You can always have your TS for lunch and save money that way too. Have CS for dinner instead of a TS

In MK we love the grilled chicken wrap from Peco Bills, it is huge and enough to share. We are big fans of Cosmic Rays, love the grilled chicken caeser salad and rotisserie chicken.

You will be ok, there is more food out there than the standard burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips and fries.

Our girls are now 9 & 11 and will share an adult meal at the burger places (split it in half, portions are quite genereous) and also at Columbia Harbor House (fish & fries). That als oworks at TS restaurants as well. We often order two adult entrees and then share with them, portions are huge as a rule(Concourse steakhouse in particular) and unless it's a buffet no one will comment at all). This also helps the adults to control portion size as well ;)

We really enjoyed Wolfgang Pucks Express which is a CS at DTD. Lots of good choices other than burgers. The rosemary chicken was really great and plenty for my best friend and I to split. I saw some people sharing the meatloaf (which looked great) and the ravioli as well.

One thing we've found is to get a breakfast buffet like the Crystal Palace at the last seating. The prices are better than most TS and you can eat your fill and skip lunch.

Also lunch prices at the TS is usually less than dinner. We use these as a break from the heat. (Sci-FI at about 1:30 is good... you come out @3:00 all cool.) You could share food there too. (Huge portions).

I am working on our food budget now...that's why I got on tonight. We'll have 4 "adults" and 2 "kids".
