Got the Villas for pre-Christmas!

I was doing our DVC booking for our 2006 Use Year a few weeks ago and scheduled us for Saratoga Springs (our home resort) for Dec. 20 - 23rd because we were too far out to try for VWL. But the CM told me that at the time of booking, they still had studios available at VWL and that I should call back as soon as my check-out date would be 7 months out.

Well, I got busy, kids ended school, we went out of town for Memorial Day. I just happened to think about it yesterday and called, figuring that the Villas would be all sold out of studios - so imagine my when there was availability!

DH and I are so excited - and I can't wait to tell the boys! We already love staying at WL, so we toured the Villas' lobby on our last trip down and knew we'd want to stay there with our DVC points.

Anyway, just wanted to share our excitement! We figured that being at VWL in December will be fabulous!

I'm excited too. We've gotten after Xmas through New Years' Eve so far at VWL. I can't wait... I was totally surprised there was availability as well.

Congratulations to you, too! I had heard that the Villas are really hard to get at 7 months out, and I figured to get the days we wanted for pre-Christmas that we might would be able to get Wed and / or Thurs but never dreamed we could get Friday night, too.

Is it too soon to make my Whispering Canyon ADR for breakfast one of those mornings??? LOL!

We also got the VWL for a solo trip with me and my girls. We currently have a studio and a 1BR (trying to decide which to keep). We can't wait.

P.S. I won't hold the reservation we don't want for long so that someone else can have it.

Well, I have two more days of calling for January 1st and 2nd. So hopefully, I'll get those as well.

Breakfast? Yum.... we haven't eaten there yet for breakfast. I take it is very good. I really want to eat at Kona Cafe (for the tonga toast)... YUM.... too many restaurants and not enough days! LOL...

I was able to get a 2br at VWL for 12/19-23 - on 5/23 were told it was one of nine left. Looking forward to it!

I switched over from BWV to VWL for 12/21-12/24 a few days ago. Not exactly at 7 months, but pretty close to it. The BCV was sold out for 12/21. The VWL are pretty at Christmas. I think we will enjoy it.

VWL was sold out for our trip 12/13-12/20. I managed to get a studio at BWV for the first few days, then switched to a 1 bedroom for the final three nights. Boardwalk views too!

That's a great time to stay at VWL. And the crowds don't get really bad at the parks until the day after Christmas. Last year I called only 2 weeks out and was able to get a 1BR at VWL Dec 21-26. We had missed our annual Mardi Gras trip because of Hurricane Katrina (kids were not off school). So we decided it would be an awesome surprise Christmas gift. We didn't tell the kids until the day before the trip via a scavenger hunt for clues. It was priceless. You may want to book a dinner package for the Candlelight Processional. It was beautiful!
We also took an afternoon and rode from resort to resort to look at the decorations. The gingerbread houses were fantastic. Enjoy your trip.
