Got the shoes needed for walking at Disney, now the next ?

Do the socks matter ? My dh, myself and ds all bought new tennis shoes and the lady at the specialty store made the comment about how much socks matter, not that we need to buy the ones that cost 10 bucks a pair, but, we may want to invest in some nice, mid-road socks to go w/the shoes, didn't think to much about it then, but, now I have been thinking about it (I guess she did her job and 'planted the seed' ) but, do socks really matter? If you think so, can you please give a rec on which ones work and make a differance. Thanks

I buy my boys the socks that wick away moisture at Target. I believe they are made by Champion and they say cool max on the packaging. They like them.

I LOVE those socks! I'm a runner and have heel problems and the Champion Cool Max with heavy cushioning are a life-saver. I plan on wearing them in the parks with my runners.

I get mine at Target too. I don't think I've ever seen them anywhere else.

I swear by Smartwool socks. They are comfortable, at this point I only have them for sports, casual and dress. They are expensive but make a huge difference IMHO.

Make sure your shoes are well broken in BEFORE you get to WDW - speaking from experience here

If you have ever had any problems with blisters, socks are most important. The Coolmax socks can be a real life saver. If your socks move around because they are too big, it can lead to bad blisters. This was a hard lesson for me. I thought the blisters were inevitable because of all the walking. Not true! Once I started paying attention to my socks , I've had many, many happy feet trips to DL & the World!
Remember: happy feet= , hurt feet= So, get great socks (they don't have to cost a fortune) and break in those shoes. It's totally worth it!

Thanks everyone...I will def. check out the Champion Cool Max for us. Are these the 'high performance' style. I was looking online & trying to find them. I didn't see any that said 'cool max' but did find the 'high perfomance ones' that said 'moisture control'. Are they the same?

I picked up some socks from Sams that were cool max - I'm not sure they were champion brand but I thought I'd give them a try. I was planning on saving them for Disney - but I probably ought to give them a try at home first.

I almost think that Champion socks are available at Costco for a little less than Target.
