They always send out DVC surveys about a week after you leave a DVC resort. I made sure I addressed the issues I had with the lack of an adult's only hot tub AFTER I gave excellent marks for everything else at Aulani! I expressed concern that there were indeed many "children only" areas at the resort, but no "adults only" hot tub. This is what it usually looked like when we were there.

I'm thinking I should have sent this photo to them as well. Nothing relaxing about sharing a hot tub with that many children. I asked if it was possible to have at least 2 hours at the beginning and end of the day for "adults only" in at least one hot tub.

That is an issue I never thought to address in a survey. I am sure that every DVC hot tub looks like that sometimes and I just thought there was nothing that could be done about it. I'll be sure to mention it in every survey I get if it's applicable for the visit.

Yes, sending a picture sounds like a good idea. It's a lovely view from that vantage point.

Lovely view, but unable to be enjoyed much under the circumstances. We did enjoy it one morning before the sun came up, but we were there outside of the posted hours for the hot tub use.

I also think they ought to make at least one of those an adult only. The biggest issue is that the kids are treating it like a swimming pool and are jumping in. The one and only time I finally ventured in when it wasn't crammed full of unattended children I still had to do "the look" I learned from my Dad that most anybody would notice. The parents then got their kids to stop jumping in right in front of me.

I don't know about an "adults only" but the kids should not be jumping. I would have gotten a CM to intercede at that point. It is not a pool to jump in, a lot of them have signs posted that kids under a certain age should not use and they have to be supervised.

Diane, we were there the same time as you and also have the same feelings towards an 'adults only' hot tub. My husband and I also, in conversation, thought 2 hours at the beginning and 2 hours at the end of the day wasn't too much too ask. And, like you, we were in the hot tub early one morning. The jets must be on a timer. While the water was warm, the only movement came from the water spilling over the edge from the upper infinity pool to the lower one.

I agree with you Diane. With 2 infinity hot tubs, I don't see why one of them couldn't be adults only.

Most of my hot tub time there was spent in the one back by the lazy river, and I often had it just to myself, and it was very relaxing. It just didn't have that view.

We did end up going very early too. The day we were there late was when the kids were jumping from the upper to the lower, and I couldn't see a cast member, or I would have told them. The picture I posted was during the middle of the morning, and there was indeed a cast member standing nearby supervising things. There was no way I was getting into that hot tub that day though.

DiznyDi, you are right about the timer. We couldn't turn it on when we were there before 8:00 AM.
