Got the 2010 'year long' PINcode after following a DIS-tip

Keep trying !! I'm telling you, it was like a part time job logging in and "pricing vacations", saving them, making maps, ordering the DVD.....it's so worth all the persistance. Don't give up!!! :grouphug: I think I've been doing this for like 3 months! Finally, yesterday I got the really awesome pin and almost cried. :wizard:

Here's wishing pixie dust on you !! pixiedust: ~ Jill

^^^ Thanks Sydneysmom! That's so kind of you to encourage persistence on our part. We've been doing this almost everyday. We'll continue to try this strategy. As you said, it feels as if we have a part-time job on the Disney website. :lmao:

Wow. That would've been way too much work for this lazy one. :lmao:

Just got off the phone, and NO CODE for me!:guilty: So, I booked POP for Feb. at $103.50 a night......:headache: Hope a Fl Resident code comes up soon...

^^^ I understand your sentiment and DH and are a bit discouraged to have to be spending that much time on line hoping it will generate a PIN for us. But we do it because we are really really trying to make it to the World next summer. Unfortunately, our vacation is locked into a specific time frame (end of June). The one and only PIN we've ever received was only good through the beginning of June, so we couldn't apply it. :sad2:

We are desperately hoping to get the 20%, 35%, 40% off PIN that is good through most dates in 2010. We'll spend weeks on the Disney website if that's what it takes. Otherwise, we won't be able to go to WDW in 2010. :sad1:

Did you consider renting through a DVC-member? I did get the PIN, but after crunching some numbers decided to go with renting points. It's a tad bit cheaper for me to do that and stay at a deluxe than with the 30% off to stay at a moderate.

And then of course there is the wait and see game. WDW still hands out a LOT of PIN's and discounts we haven't seen for long times. Buy 4 get 3 free, this new almost year long PIN-code, the list goes one. Maybe it's a good sign that they'll offer something good for June?

^^^^We've never considered this option. DH and I don't know any DVC members and would feel a bit nervous about handing our hard earned $$$ to someone we don't know from Adam. I know, I know Paypal transactions are safe, secure, and guaranteed, but our worse nightmare would be to show up and find out there isn't a reservation for us. Sure, we'd get the refund via Paypal, but what of the vacation? I'm not sure we'd be ready to try this route on our 2nd trip to the World.

^^^ I hear you, though it does seem the PINs get sent out to the same group of people. We've read of posters who've received several PINs throughout the year. Others may get one in their lifetime while others none at all. The buy 4 get 3 discount would be ideal for us if it were to be extended through the end of June. We're hopeful because we know there is at least one PIN out there that's good through the end of June (that we could apply to our dates), but of course that means we need to first receive it before we can apply it to a reservation. :headache:

DFiance and I keep discussing this option and just keep going back to that. We look forward to the trip all year and I don't know if that extra savings is worth the risk you take on.

Pearly Swan, I feel your pain.

We ARE one of those families who seem to get pin after pin, EXCEPT THIS ONE!!! I got an email from WDW about a month ago referencing my June trip dates, but the pin was for '09 dates.

I also got the pin that ends 6/3. School doesn't end here until 6/4, plus I want to be in WDW on 6/10 (DS's birthday).

I have saved all kinds of trips under different accounts (clearing my cookies in between ;)), ordered the DVD etc.

My only glimmer of hope is being able to book a bounceback next week, but I still haven't gotten a definitive answer on what the latest bounceback dates even are for 2010 :confused3

I could hold onto hope for the 4/3 deal to be extended, but we are AP holders so a room only is what we need.

Best of luck to you! :wizard:

Thanks Cinderumbrella! Thanks for the info. Here's wishing you some pixie dust for your June dates next year. pixiedust: Hopefully you can be at the World for your DS's Bday on 6/10/10. :)

Im reading all about pin codes. I planned a trip for our family we are going in march of 2010. Any suggestions. Please help i want to take advantage of any possible savings. THanks in advance.

Here's some stuff to try ......Have you gone out to disney.com and set up an online acct ? If so, keep logging in regularly. Navigate around, look at the hotels, restaurants, etc .Each time you're in your account, price out vacation packages for your dates w/ different resorts, dining plan, etc. then at the bottom, click "save". Then if you go back to the main page, a box will pop up asking you why you aren't booking your trip. You can choose from a bunch of options and then at the bottom you can type something in. I always put something like "we're still undecided and waiting to see if there may be a promotion". Well, I did this for what seemed like FOREVER :surfweb: and then lo and behold, we got the fantastic pin for most of 2010. Oh, also.....be active on Disney's website. Order a vacation DVD, order the custom maps (you can order them every 6 months). I don't know if any of it helps, but it sure doesn't hurt !! Good luck and I sure hope you get a wonderful pin code !! :cutie: Jill

Are the pin discounts for the entire package inc. the DDDP and Park Hopper Tickets or is it just a % off the room:confused3

^^^ There are different offers for each particular PIN. For example, the one and only PIN offer DH and I have ever received was for $556/adult (hotel and tickets) at a value resort. Sadly we couldn't use it as it was not good for our only travel dates in 2010 (end of June for us). Right around the time we received that PIN, we read about others getting a "kids eat, play, and stay free" PIN offer. Others have received "free dining" PINs and/or "$500 gift card" PINs. The most recent, and coveted PIN, is the one for "20% off value resorts, 35% off moderate resorts, and 40% off deluxe resorts." It is the most desirable PIN because it applies to most dates in 2010.

It seems disney is updating their site right now...
I'll try later...

I had a few trips saved under my profile and went in and saved a couple more in hopes of getting a PIN. Still no luck! Then I tried again. This time when I exited without booking, I answered the little survey box that pops up with the option saying "the price wasn't right" or whatever the wording is. I did that over the weekend, and yesterday I got the "year long" PIN offering 40% off deluxe/30% off moderate/20% off value! :cool1:

I called my TA and he tried to apply the PIN to my reservation, but it wasn't working. We faxed a copy of the email to Guest Services and I got a call last night from them saying they were working on getting my PIN applied to my ressie. Sure enough, I just got an email from my TA with an invoice showing the PIN was applied. It was an $800 savings over my AAA rate, and $1300 savings over rack rate! :yay::yay::yay:

I also did the survey and mention that the price wasn't right.

I just logged on to the wdw site and the survey popped up. I completed it and now I hope I get something!LOL :goofy:

I called today and the CM I talked had trouble with my PIN too. She said they were "having issues with that one all day". Eventually she got it to work after consulting her supervisor twice. :thumbsup2
