Got stung by a red wasp yesterday!

And boy does it hurt. It is on the inside of my left wrist and has a good knot on it and is red and a little swollen! Since it has been over 24 hours I am hoping it has done all it is going to do and will go down. I went to get thenewspaper and it was in the paper!!! I took some benedryl and put some anti sting medicine on it immediately. I have been putting cortaid with aloe on it today and that seems to be making it feel better. I am just glad I am not allergic to them!!!!!

Ouchy, Grandma Ellen! Have you put a little ice on it too to help with the swelling? I'm glad you're not allergic to them too. Are you sure you're not? Is it normal to still be swollen 24 hours later?

BTW, my parents were near you neighborhood this weekend.

It sounds really weird but put some meat tenderizer on it. When my daughter got stung by a wasp that was the first thing a nurse told me to do, and it works. Now whenever someone gets stung around here we put some of that (mixed with water to make a paste)on it and the pain and swelling go away.

I wanted to lay out for a little bit earlier and couldn;t because I saw 2 red wasps and I am allergic to them.

Sure hope that all the sweeling is gone quickly!

Ouch! Hope you're feeling better soon. I was getting topsoil at Walmart tonight outside at the garden center. The cashier actually kept throwing the hand scanner down on the ground and running away from the register. She is severly allergic to bees! Couldn't believe she was without an epipen. Glad you're not allergic.

Boots! I hope you're feeling better! I agree with the meat tenderizer advice - add a dab of water and make a paste.

And I second what Shannon said - is it normal for it to still be swollen? Have you called a doctor??

Ive been stung by bees in the past - from the mailbox, inside the car while driving, etc- and man do they hurt
