Got Sick, Rode Segways and Celebrated a Birthday all in 6 nights!!Update 10/8 Dhs!

:rotfl: Hall of Presidents LOL I probably would have liked it though since you know I'm a history dork. At least Haunted Mansion and Philharmagic made up for it!

In Monsters Inc Laugh Floor I soooo wanted Chris to get picked to be "that guy." How funny would that have been? LOL Glad you guys made it to your ADR but I can't believe you didnt get seated until 40 mins late! :headache:

hii! just wanted to join in on your TR too! :goodvibes love reading about other couples trips around mine and bdfs age!

great start! funny my first ADR was for 1900 park fare too! but it was for a breakfast not dinner! looking forward to more!

Thanks for joining in! Funny our first ADRs were at the same place!

I've got to admit that we thought the Hall of Presidents was boring too! But, like you said, it's a nice place to cool off. My husband thinks it's a nice place to take a nap.:lmao:

Haha yea I will probably only go back if we needed to cool off/ rest :rotfl:

Bummer you didn't like Hall of Presidents. I'm not usually a history buff but I thought it was an interesting show.

That stinks about the wait time for the Laugh Floor! It usually seems to be the other way around where the posted time is longer than it usually takes.

Yeaa I was really tempted to walk off line because I was afraid of being late for my ADR but since we didn't get seated until 40 min late it didn't matter!

I'm subbing! Nice pictures so far! Can't wait to see 1900.

Thanks!!

When I last left off we had just gotten seated for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I was really excited to see the step sisters in action since I heard such good stuff about them from other trip reports. We were pretty hungry and honestly pretty tired since we had left the house at 8am and had really taken a break since then….As soon as we sat down we place drink orders and the boys ran off to get food while Anna and I took picture with the prince.

DisneyPicsMyCamera188.jpg

When the waitress can back with the drink she brought me a birthday pin!!! Anyway, on to the food…..Bryan and I are pretty picky eaters but Anna and Scott eat just about everything and not one of us was thrilled with the food selection. I ended eating mashed potatoes and soft serve ice cream for dinner… not nutritious but I didn’t go starving….. While we were eating the rest of the characters came by and the sisters were as funny as everyone said.

When we were finished eating the waitress was nowhere to be found!!!!! FINALLY after a good 15 minutes she showed up dropped off the check and disappeared for another 10 Minutes. Now the recommended tip was like $25… why should the waitress get $25 when all she does is refill drinks??? You pay a server for their service and at a buffet a waiter/waitress performs a very small service……does anyone else feel like this?? We all agreed and left her $15 which I feel like more than enough. Overall we all agreed that we don’t have any desire to eat at Park Fare again… at least for dinner anytime in the near future. After dinner we headed back to the hotel which entailed a ride on the monorail and a jog to the pop bus… we made the first bus but I should mention that every time we left magic kingdom they were running two buses back to pop. All in all we had a good first day but were tired and had to be up early for AK the next morning!

Next Up: Breakfast at Tusker House!

OK I've been kinda missing a day or two so I'm caught up! We loved the Philarmagic show also Donald at the end just totally made the show! :thumbsup2! Awwh! That's ashame your experience at 1900 parkfare was bad! It's been getting mixed reviews from what I can see we ate there a few years ago this time we did the Grand Foridian Cafe and were very happy! Did you by chance do teppan Edo? That place was definitely the BEST dinner we had our entire stay! And it's different and fun! :goodvibes

I have to agree about the tip i dont think they deserved that much neither we were there the week before free dining we went to 1900 Park Fare. I did not care for the food neither and the waiters SUCKED big time, but the kids liked the characters For my daughter it was all about them. It was a nice experience but wont be doing it again!

Sorry you weren't impressed with your dinner. I've never eaten there...we're not really into Character meals... Hopefully your TH breakfast was much better!! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear that your dinner wasn't at all what you had expected. If it makes you feel any better, I've read a lot of reports saying that they didn't like dinner there either. I love the pictures of the characters though.

There's no way that I would have left a $25.00 tip to someone who disappeared several times!

Sorry that you didn't love the food at 1900 PF. We noticed a definite decline in it last year. But DD loves it so we are doing it again. Breakfast there is the best breakfast on site though IMO.

The tips at the buffets annoy me too. We had the same experience at Chef Mickey's last year. We had breakfast at 7:50 and still missed rope drop because our waitress disappeared.

We never have had an issue during all the years of free dining we've been to getting in at our ADR time. BUT I'm neurotic about it and always make sure we are at least 10 minutes early. I went to WDW for a girls weekend in February and we ended up 10 minutes late for an ADR and didn't get a seat for 45 minutes. Based on that...I figure that it's the being late thing that ruins your seating time.

Didn't eat at teppan edo but it is on the list for next time!!!

Yayy another person agrees with me about the tip!! That is crazy to serve us drinks and disappear all night and suggest 25 bucks!

Yea well keep reading because the whole late seating thing becomes a theme for the trip lol

So I was really excited about our AK day because Scott loveessss animals and I also like to watch from far away. As long as I don’t have to get to close I’m fine lol.We got to the park and headed straight to Expedition Everest to got our FP’s. I am not sure of the return time but I am pretty sure it was 11:45-12:45.
DisneyPicsMyCamera198.jpg

We headed over to Pangani Forest trail and strolled through and saw these animals……

When we got out it was time for breakfast at Tusker House. We were given a beeper and told to have a seat uhhh more waiting. We were allowed to get new FP’s at 10:15 so Bryan and I jogged over to the Safari to grab some. Our return time was for 11:35-12:45 I believe which was perfect because as soon as we were done with breakfast we could hope right on!

Breakfast at tusker house is amazing and should not be missed!! That’s probably why I had to call about 50 times to get a reservation! If you remember from the beginning of my TR Scott is a city fireman and it just so happens his family was in Disney the same time as us and guess what??? Not only were they in AK but they were eating at tusker house at the same time. So anyway I got to meet one of Scotts fellow firefighters while we were away. All the food was amazing after our lousy dinner at park fare we were EXTREMLY happy with the food here. We did all like the jungle juice but I thought it would be nice if they offered something other than Coffee, tea, or jungle juice.
Some pics from Tusker House…..

After breakfast we went straight to the safari and got on in less than ten minutes. I have some pictures of us waiting and any pics of the animals are from Anna because apparently I can’t take pictures out of moving vehicles..they come out like crap haha.

After the safari our fast passes for EE we ready for us to use. Now obviously Scott wasn’t going anywhere closer than 50ft from a thrill ride so he took the railroad over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch while we went to ride EE. We when all was said and done it only took under 20min to walk to and ride EE. Scott obviously wasn’t done yet so I decided we should head over to dinosaur
DisneyPicsMyCamera142.jpg

DisneyBryansCamera305.jpg

I didn’t think Scott could really ride this without being sick anyway. The standby wait said 30 mins and we were ok with that….. wellllll 30 mintutes turned into about and hr and 20 mins to complete the ride. O I forgot to mention way up at the top that I decided to where a pair of old navy flip flops that have always been my most comfortable flip flips ….. they ate up my toes like you would not believe!!! To the point I was walking around the dinosaur queue barefoot. Needless to say I was a little pissed that the wait time had been SOOOO off, my feet were killing me, and now Scott was out waiting in practically 100 degree weather. Finally we get outside and find Scott and he has a Disney bag in hand….Im thinking he hates shopping what the heck could he have bought in WDW??? It was an AK beach towel and Mickey stuffed animal in his jungle gear for me!!!! If you knew Scott randomly buying me things is extremely out of character for him so I was pretty excited. By now it was only about 1:40 and we had just missed a showing of FOTLK and there wouldn’t be another for 50 minutes…. We stood around for about 3 minutes before deciding that it was way too hot and I basically couldn’t walk anymore. We headed to the buses and caught one back to Pop to go in the pool. I was pretty disappointed we missed so much in AK but I just couldn't walk anymore and didn't want any one getting heat stroke on our first day haha
** Total blisters was 4 on the right foot and 1 on the left- keep in mind 3 of them on the right foot were between my big toe and the one next to it :sad2:

Well, at least your Animal Kingdom day started off well. I am so sorry that you guys had to wait so long in the Dinosaur line. What's was up with the wait time board? There's a big difference between 30 minutes and 80 minutes!

Sorry to hear about your flip flops giving you blisters. I can't walk all day long in flip flops. My feet start hurting after about an hour or so. But, you did look cute in them!

even though you missed stuff, it still seems ther eis not that much to do in AK, we usually only spend a half day there.

they really need to add some stuff to that park.

Yea we had a really good morning but eventually the heat just got to us and there were pictures of our bowling pin pool flashing in front of ours eyes so we left

I think we definitely could have spent the whole day just strolling around looking at animals since scott n anna loveeee them but we just couldn't deal with the heat :sad2:

Sorry you missed so much in AK! We really love that park. And OUCH!!!! :headache: I can't imagine having all those blisters. It stinks you got them so early on too. I think we might try Tusker House for bfast next time... It sounds so good :thumbsup2

i am just joining in your TR too:) I am going to have to go back and catch up:) I just got back from Disney Sept 20th-- we were there the 10th-20th-- I am going to catch up reading your TR now:)

Ok so I really need to get moving on this TR but its hard cuz I am working 5-6 days a week when I only used to work 4…… Good news is we will be going back to Disney January 17th!!!! We were looking to stay at AKV for 6 nights but couldn’t get all of the nights so we decided that we also wanted to try OKW so we rented points from someone here on the boards and our 6 nights are costing us $567!!!:thumbsup2 That’s less than Pop! We are stay 3 nights at Okw and than 3 nights at AKV …. And tips on transferring resorts in the middle of that stay??? :confused3 I’m a little skeptical about moving but this trip we barley even unpacked and I think it’s really cool we get to try two DVC resorts in one trip. This past trip we had 6 day base tickets w. the water park fun and more option…. Went we got home I was able to call and upgrade them to 10 day no expiration tickets for a reasonable price so now we have four park days and 9 fun uses. So now all we need is ADR’S and Plane tickets and we’re all set!

Ok so when I last left off we headed back to Pop to go in the pool and that’s exactly what we did! The pool was never overcrowded and I loveeddd the temperature of the pool I thought it was perfect. I believe it was when we got back to the room that we found out that Soap net played “The OC” every afternoon. Bryan Scott and I used to watch this show religiously and were pretty thrilled that for the rest of the trip we always looked forward to watching reruns of the OC in the afternoon. After we were all rested up we decided to go grab dinner at the food court. We were all really satisfied with our meals at the food court. I loved the pizza and Bryan loved the double bacon cheeseburger he said it was almost as good as Wendy’s baconator. Then we decided to head over to Disney Quest. We went out to the bus stop and didn’t wait long of course ….. never did the whole trip at Pop.
Bus ride...
DisneyPicsMyCamera238.jpg

DisneyPicsMyCamera237.jpg

When we got to Downtown Disney I didn’t know there were two stops so of course we hoped off at the first one and had to trek all the way down to the other end for Disney Quest. Once we finally go there we were thrilled to get in some air conditioning. I didn’t really write down what we did while we were in there we really just walked around and played whatever we felt like. The ride that you create your own rollercoaster was pretty cool and I really liked the mighty ducks pinball although I’m not sure there is any real technique on how to win that game! I also played crazy taxi quite a few times I’m not very good but it is so cool you can just played any arcade game you want with the admission they boys really liked it. THENNN I found the animators academy thing and begged Scott to do it with me and this is what we came up with……
DisneyPicsMyCamera245.jpg

DisneyPicsMyCamera246.jpg

Checkin anna was tall enough for astro blaster haha (We didn't really ar for this ride)
DisneyPicsMyCamera243.jpg

After that we went to a virtual raft thing not sure what is called but it was really cool however extremely tiring!....I think we headed back to pop after this is was around 10 and we had to be up early for DHS!

sounds like you had fun at disney quest! i havent been to disney quest since i was 12 but i remember a lot of the games and stuff that you did, it makes me wanna go back and check it out on my next trip! =]

Yay for going back! :yay: AKV is awesome, haven't stayed at OKW...yet.

I'm onboard! Sorry I'm late. Just a few random thoughts....it's too bad that you didn't like 1900 Park Fare. At least you didn't pay out of pocket for it. That is the worst feeling to pay a lot of money for a meal that you didn't like at all.

I hope that you brought other shoes besides those flip-flops. Those blisters sound pretty painful.

I really like your pictures from Pop. I have never been there and it looks like a lot of fun!
