We had been counting down the days to our first Dec trip and seeing the MVMCP. But, we got decimated by the flu while there. It hit my 8 yo, me, and our 2yo. DW, and 7 yo were unaffected (physically).
We missed MVMCP and few other special plans. But, we still had a great time and were able to have new experiences because of the changes.
1. The (affordable take-out) food options at the Boardwalk are pretty good. We loved the calzones, pizza, and subs at the spoodles take out window. The Nachos (and the onion rings) at the 'cart' had the right amount of zing for DS and I. The Booh-yeah chili at ESPN was really good too.. Of course, the Boardwalk Bakery rocks.
2. The bus driver who took us back to our resort at 6:45 pm from MVMCP was really great. My 8 yo, who we thought had recovered, had relapsed into oblivion and the driver made sure that BWV was his first stop. (Thank you for being so nice!)
3. We made our way around by resting often and stopping at each way along our route. As such, we saw quite a few 'Santas around the World' and we discovered the bakery in France. I must say that Turtle Talk with Crush was probably the best show that nobody knows about. (Why is Disney marketing the horrible stitch bore and not Turtle talk??)
4. The CM's everywhere at the Boardwalk are very helpful and their kindness will never be forgotten. There's too much to list and they were all neighborly.
It would have been great to see MVMCP. But, I'm glad we got to experience what we did.
