Got Pin Code question

I received a Pin Code for Free dining in my email. We will be staying either 11/28 thru 12/4 or 11/30 thru 12/5. (Depending if they let us use the pin code on the 28th) Would it be better to try to book this myself through disney or talk to a travel agent? I've never used a travel agent and I don't know any. Would going through one be more expensive?

I don't think you will be able to use the dining plan on the 28. I book my trips myself, but I dont think a travel agent costs you anything. I like being able to call and make any changes to my reservation myself. That being said, I;m sure travel agents have alot to offer that I am just not aware of. Have a great trip.

I have read that several people on the boards have been able to book with the free dining on the 28th (they thought they would have to book room-only on the 28th, but they didn't have to). I would call myself, and if the first CM says no to the 28th, at least try a few more times.

Like a PP mentioned, travel agents shouldn't cost you anything (some do charge extra, but that's crazy IMO) and often they will do other "little things" for you that save you time & headache (like make your ADR's or make a "recommended park" itinerary for the week). Some people like to be able to call & deal with their own reservations, and you can't do that if you use a TA.

Also TA's will keep the eye out for any possible better deals that might come along during your travel (although free dining can be one of the best $$ savers). I called one of my clients a few weeks ago to see if she had gotten another PIN when I noticed here on the disboards that there were a number of different offers mailed out. She said she did, and I got the number from her and was able to save an additional $600 on her trip. She was just ignoring the post card, because we had already used 1 PIN when we booked her trip. She didn't realize that her new card was a better deal.

4 night/5-day vacation packages at select disney value resorts including accomodations and theme park tickets. $1284 (for a family of 4). My pin code says for stays most nights between 8/23/09 -10/1/09 and 11/29/09 - 12/17/09.

It doesn't hurt to ask if you can start your stay on 11/28, others have said they were able to. I think WDW big thing is they don't want you to use it the week of Thanksgiving, when they are super busy.

So are you going to try a TA, or do it yourself?

My pin code offer reflects dates of 10/2-11/24 and I booked ck in 11/22 with ck out 11/27 (day after T-giving) and was given FD for the entire stay. I think with the package, you just have to ck during the offer dates and you get the offer for your entire stay.
