We had booked a 1 Bd. at SSR (our home resort) at the 11 month window, for the second week of Dec., and as soon as the 7 month window opened up we put a 1 Bd. down for either AKV Kidani or Jambo. Of course there was nothing and we've been calling every week (sometimes a few times a week) to see if there was anything available. Nothing, nada, zilch. 
Friday afternoon DH logged onto the DVC site and saw that our upcoming trip had AKV Kidani as our resort. 
We got our waitlist!!!!! I am so psyched! While we love our home resort we also really love AKV and that will be where we add on points when we get to that point.
SO... if you are hoping to get your WL don't lose hope if you call every other day and find nothing available.
