Hi all,

We applied for our passports on February 28th and received them both yesterday, March 19th!! I believe that was only 3 weeks and we did not ask for expedited service.

Just a little FYI.... :rolleyes1

So did we. We went on Feb 28 also, and got them March 19. My cruise is paid out, now we got our passports. Now the Hard part, To wait. :wizard: princess: :jumping2:

That is great news! We just ordered ours this week and I was concerned about getting them back at the last minute. Hopefully they will still have the 3 week turn around time!

Let's hope they continue the fast service. My DW, both DD's and I just applied last Thursday and our DD6 wants hers NOW.

I had to renew mine, and it took about 2 1/2 weeks to get it back. The next day, DDs came. Now we just have to sit back and wait to go!

I ordered mine on Feb 28th also but didn't recieve mine in the mail yesterday. Maybe I will get them tomorrow??!!!! :)

Man, I hope ours get here in the next week. I applied on the 4th of March, and next Thursday will be 3 weks. We leave town on the 7th of April. If they don't come soon, I'm going to have to get birth certifitcates all over again just in case.

We received our passports today! It took 2 weeks and 2 days to get them. Wow, the government is working on these fast, since they told us it can take up to 6 weeks!

That's great to hear! We should get ours in time for our cruise then. If it takes 6 weeks it will be cutting it close!

how many pages are in the passport, i hear you can request a 48 page one but i wanted to know what do they come with, and how long are tey good four until you need to renew them and when you renew it do you get a new one or keep the old one

I have seen it take close to six weeks and recently it took less than 14 days. I guess it depends on how many they have to process.

Happylawyer: US passports for adults I belive are good for 10 years and if you use all the pages before that you will have to get another. Once the 10 years is up can renew once. After 20 years you have to get a new one.

As for kids the passports are only good for 5 years and cannot be renewed. You have to get a new Passport every 5 years.

does anyone know how many pages it comes with

When you renew you get a new passport no matter what. The big difference is that kids pay the full price every 5 years but adults pay a renewal fee (less than full price). Also, with the renewal they did not keep my birth cert. (they take the kids each time and return with the passport).

They return your old passport marked as invalid or something like that. I don't have my new one with me but there about 20 pages for entry/exit stamps (the middle binding is between pages 12 and 13).

(sigh of relief) Twenty four days after we applied (March 4th), our passports arrived!

Hey Monica.........that gives me some "Hope" I applied for mine on March 5 & don't have it yet!!! :bitelip:

Hope, did you call the number that's listed for checking the status of your documents? I did that the week before mine came and the operator was helpful. I expected a long wait and the run around but it wasn't like that at all.

and, just to prove that speed is in the air...Cash got his Bahamas permit today...a mere 4 weeks since application...RECORD TIME!

Received both children's passports in under 4 weeks after applying the day before the March 8th increase. Now our daughter's can cruise for the next five years and go to Disneyland Paris if the opportunity presents itself.
