No fish yet, still want to add many more decorations and a backing, but it's set up at least. :)

Looks like a nice set up there! I admit I miss it, but my ex did all the work as far as setting it up, cleaning it, etc. I wouldn't know the first thing about how to keep it up and keep the fish healthy. Good luck and let us know what fish you get.

whats that thing on your couch

Will do. :) Won't be for at least a week, though, 'cause we're doing a fishless cycle. Once the tank finishes cycling, we'll bring in the fish. Probly going to start with zebra danios, then add some neon tetra, probly cory catfish, and either guppies or scissortail rasboras, or maybe both if we have room. :) And we still need the backing, some more plants (probly going to go with fake until that one live plant proves we can keep a live plant alive), and a few more decorations

does the blanket have little tassles on it

probly cory catfish

I have a catfish, a Pleco to be exact. He started out about 2" long and is now over a foot long. He is alone in the tank cause he killed everything else. If you get a catfish, make sure the tank is huge and ask the pet shop how big the fish will get.

Also, catfish love to have caves and driftwood to cling on. Mine loves to munch on zucchini too.

Skye and Sienna have been so cute with it. It'll be interesting to see how they react once there are actually *fish* in there. LOL!!

Yes, the blanket has tassel/ties on it. :)

Marjie -- The cory I intend to get I *think* stays pretty small, but I'll double-check, thanks for the warning!! We both really would like a bala shark (not really a shark, just got that name because of its shape) but they can grow to be 13 inches or more, and that's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too big for our tank so no can do. Closest we can get are the scissortail rasboras.

Nope JTB, it's freshwater. DH would actually like a saltwater, if it weren't so expensive. But you can have more fish per gallon in freshwater, and it's much easier to care for, and less expensive. So we're at least starting with fresh. :)

It's a nice tank. good luck with it :)

Nice tank....
I have a 4ft tank....
current inhabitants are cardinal tetras, harlequin rasboras, 4 penguin tetras, 3 neon rainbowfish, phantom black widow tetras, 3 botia striata ( great fish) a couple of platties , a spotted dorad , an ancistrus and 2 gara loaches and 3 cory catfish.

the cories only get to a maximum of 4 inches so you will be fine with those.
Good to hear you are doing the fishless cycle.

Looks great Tammi!!! I hope you all (including the kitties) have a lot of fun with it :)

Looks good!
I can't take a good picture of my aquarium for some reason.. always blurry...

Love them no sew fleece blankets...Both dd's have one and I always hog the one on the love seat when I'm home and cold....:smooth:

I just added fish to my tank. I had a fishless cycle going. Then middle of last week I added two Mollies one dalmatian and one silver. The dalmatian died and it turned out that the silver one was pregnant. So now I've got a million little fish babies!!!!!!! I divided my tank but I don't know what to do with all of the babies. Any suggestions?

Ah, fish babies:rolleyes:

Warning to Rajah -- guppies do nothing but eat and breed. And they eat what they breed! A few little guys survived each round by finding the tiniest place they can get so as not to get consumed and still find some nourishment, so our guppie population slowly grew from a couple to a tank full. What do you do with all of them? There's no good answer!

Looks very good! Best of luck and many hours of happines with your aquarium....

Bobbin -- you can either leave them for the parents to eat if they're still small enough (horrible, but hey, it's part of the circle) or keep them, raise them as you can, then see if your fish store will take them. :)

DL -- that's why I'm hoping to get nothing but males. :D
