Got one standard room so far...

I've been checking for weeks for two Standard Rooms at POFQ for the first week of October.

Today I saw availability and called right away. There was one! Just one! So I snatched that one up for me, but I still need a second for my parents. We used our AAA rate. The CM agreed that my strategy was good, and then- in grand "CMs Talking Out Their Tushies" tradition- proceeded to tell me not to worry, because a "BIG" discount for Sept/Oct was coming, and those garden view rooms would be way cheaper than the Standard with AAA, so I shouldn't worry.

I'm counting my chickens already!

no but seriously, I'm hoping for some cancellations, otherwise we probably won't be able to get adjoining rooms.

We're arriving on my birthday, so maybe we'll get some pixie dust?

When do most early bookers cancel? Anyone know? 9mos out? 6mos? 3mos? 6days?

Congratulations! I booked three bouncback deals (May, Sept, and Oct/Nov) when I was down there last week. I really wanted a standard room at POFQ for the May trip, but only King rooms were available, so I had to go with CSR. I wonder if any more standard rooms will open up under the bounceback deal?

Wow that's a busy year! The CM seemed really confident that more rooms would open up, as did the previous one I talked to- but they both suggested that the promo rooms would all be more premium rooms.

If you were willing to pay rack rate for a room, I'm guessing there would be availability. Are you saying that they are out of AAA discounted rooms only b/c it seems so unlikely that all the rooms would be filled this far out. Is something going on there?

No standards in at all, rack or AAA. Garden is only $10 more, not really a huge deal if we don't have a choice and no promos come out. Apparently this is common at POFQ. I did hear that from 3 different CMs over my 6 weeks of research.

Time is money, book the garden for $10 and Don't waste another six weeks
With that said I find most people cancel about one month out

You could also try at the 45 day mark b/c that is when package money is due.

I should just have them call and book Garden. They can always credit the deposit to a room change.
