Got my voucher- hotel deal

I got my free ticket voucher in the mail and didn't give much thought to the room deal. I have a room booked for 7 nights in July with the AAA rate and a platinum upgrade to a suite. With this SB deal, can I call and apply this to my existing reservation - having them just take the free nights off of my ressie. Will I lose the AAA rate on the rest of the nights and still get my suite upgrade? I'm very confused about the whole thing! :confused3

i had already booked in january for my universal hotel with the AAA.

What this promo is will be better than the AAA. I am saving $380 on the same room type, same date.

Call and tell them you want to modify your rate from AAA to the SB SS promo. Do ask the TM which program will you come out ahead.

If you booked with the special of pay for xx nights and get xx free, they will determine which program is best for you financially.

They will figure if the 41% off per night is greater or lesser than the 4 nights paid, 3 nights free.
I would figure it out but I don't know the rate you are paying for the nights.

You will keep your Loews perks and free upgrade.
Super Saver rates and AAA are acceptable in order to keep your Loews perks.

I have platinum also and still have the King Suite free upgrade from the standard originally booked room.

Basically, this SuperBowl rate is the Super Saver rate. If you stay 5 nights or more, it should be a 41% discount off of your booked room. That is what the discount is for me.

The original SS rate ends on oct 8th.
That is my check in date so there was no way I could use it and went with AAA for my rate.

I am coming out way ahead with the SB promo code rate.

I just called about changing the rate, but she said that it doesn't apply to PBH for the time I'll be there, which is in July. I'm a bit confused as I thought July is included in the timeframe. Do you think she's correct, or should I try calling back? When I do the math, the SB rate will save me more than the AAA rate.

what are your exact dates?

that is weird.....PBR does not offer it at that time.....only thing I can think of is it is fully booked?:confused3

I used your dates and went to the special website, listed your dates and the code.

it shows nothing available for that promo.
that would mean that all the rooms are presently booked full for your dates that are USING that promo.

You have to remember that only a certain percentage of rooms for any certain code qualify for promos.
Apparently, that number has reached it's limits.

I played around with numbers and put in a 5 night stay starting with your check in date of 7/16.

rooms are available but only certain types are.

the queen deluxe rooms are open and you are able to secure one of them for 5 nights with the SB cold.

That would negate some things for you.

You probably booked the lowest priced room for the suite upgrade perk of Loews You First program.

You don't want to pay for the deluxe and then upgrade.
your nightly room rate is based on the booked room.

prices from standard to deluxe are totally different.

The only thing you can hope for is some people cancel their reservations and a standard room goes back into the pool.

You have to remember that when those mailers went out, many booked then.

You do have the choice to check rph site and see what is available there if you want to use the code and get the free upgrade.

The TM on the phone did tell you the situation.
for your dates, there are no standard rooms available that qualifies for the SB code for you.
some of your dates are valid but not at the standard room rate.

I always book at least 10 months out to hold my room and then wait and modify it when special codes are released.

i suggest you call periodically when you see standard rooms available on the SB website.
you could possibly snag one of the rooms then w/ the upgrade.

Thanks so much for the detailed explaination macraven! That all makes sense now. I'm keeping my room as that's the one I really want and the AAA rate is pretty good, especially since I'm getting the upgrade to the suite. I will take your suggestion and keep checking to see if a standard opens up and then try again. That's what I get for going during a busy time I guess.

i'm happy to help.

when i share how things went for me, i know it can work for anyone else in the same situation.

Due to popular demand, we have added an extra night to our May trip and now qualify for the 5 nights promo!

That means we'll be there longer, saved some money over simply adding another night, AND get to add my Platinum Loews number (I previously booked with an AP or FL Resident rate).

So excited! I need to look over the Platinum benefits now. I totally forgot what the new ones are.
