they put the wrong name on the check!


Can not imagine how they could get it wrong since I have a simple last name and I spelled it for them besides.

So that took 8 weeks to come and now I have to wait for them to send me forms to fill out and return the check and get one reissued and wait again.

I could, yes, but that would be fraud and not sure I want to do that. That was the first thing I thought of but then what if this check should have gone to a real person and they just put my address on it.

My first name was spelled wrong, way wrong, but I signed my name correctly on the back and the bank cashed it.

I don't think it's fraud. I get checks written to me all the time using my nickname of "Robin" but my given name is something else. I even get checks written to me with my husband's last name. I never have a problem cashing those checks.

I work for a bank for 20 years....you can sign it the wrong way first, then sign it the correct way. They check belongs to you so it is NOT fraud.

BTW, we got a card in the mail from Sam's Club yesterday - Slim Fast ready to drink back in stock.

Wow! I hadn't heard about this...I have 17 cans. I emailed the company and asked them to let me know what I needed to due to get a refund. What did you all have to do?

Thanks for the info everyone about the check. I was afraid it would be fraud since the last name is incorrect. I will check with my bank and deposit it if they say it is ok.
