Got My Rainforest GC Today!

This is the first time I've cashed in at Mypoints. Wow, they're fast. Less than 1 week from the time I ordered till the $25 GC arrived. Today was a good mail day! Got the Rainforest Cafe gift certificate and a cute little welcoming card from the Wilderness Lodge!

Great news!! I love MyPoints because they are so quick to deliver what you work for!! One of the best Reward Programs out there now, IMO!

I was pretty impressed. I thought I'd be lucky to get it before our trip. Of course, while I was working towards earning the gc, I thought, I'll just get this and be sooo happy to have made it in time. Now I'm ever so close to being able to order a couple of phone cards that I'm saying the same thing all over again. I'm just never satisfied.

I have enough points now for a RF GC too...do you mind telling me if there's an expiry date on your certificate....we may not be going back to WDW now until March 2004 instead of 2003, so just wondering when I should cash my points in.

The only date on it is on the front which is 8/02/2002. I guess that's the date it was printed. There's nothing that would indicate an expiration date.

Thanks peachgirl...I guess I'll go ahead & order my certificate and then start saving for another one (it's takes a fair amount of time to earn points in Canada because most offers are for the US only).

Can the Rainforest GC be used at ANY Rainforest Cafe? Just making sure I can use mine at DTD. I thought I read somewhere else that it could only be used at Animal Kingdom.

Well, I've never used one before, but I don't see anything that would prevent you from using it at either one. They're both Rainforest Cafe's owned by the same company, right? All the gift certificate says is " A gift for you at any Landry's Restaurants, Inc. owned concept." All that's on the back are icons of their different restaurants, one of them being Rainforest. It never occurred to me I couldn't use them at either one, but I really don't know.

Yes, you can use the GC at the Rainforest Cafe in DTD. We used our Landry's Restaurants GC there this summer without any problem.

Since they changed to Landry's though, you can't use any unused portion of the GC towards the tip. Before it was Landry's, you could.

Congrats! Just a little warning about RFC though. Not all locations are owned by Landry's (which mean they don't participate with Safari Club and don't take gc). The one I definitely know of is in Niagara Falls, Canada. Both of the locations in WDW, DTD and AK, are both owned by Landry's so you shouldn't have any problems. I always call the location directly if I have any questions. HTH!
