grover,
The domain itself was $25 US/year plus set up fees with your ISP, which I'm not positive yet but I think it about $50? Then you need someone to host your website. Again I am not sure about prices because we barter services with our ISP.
You see, Rob and I actually MET each other thru our ISP (
www.nucleus.com) before there was internet chat rooms. Before the internet was popular, there were BBS' (not sure of you ever heard of them) they were like a local chat rooms, ours was nucleus (nuke) and we were both members. He used to chat with everyone and I used to go on to play trivia and chat a little. Nuke used to have monthly get together meets and we met at one of those
We knew the owners of nuke and became friends. Eventually, when we wanted a website for Quests End, we asked them about it and they had just started offering internet in Calgary and they hosted our site in return for a free dance every year. So, we have been doing that every year now for 7 years now (gosh! how time flies!)
I am thinking the web hosting is about $500/year for a business but it would be much less for a personal site.
You can check with your ISP, some of them offer 20-50 MB of free web space with your internet account. We got an extra 50 MB when we got our DSL with nuke
Since we already have a business account for our DJ business (
www.questsend.com and/or
www.questsend.ca) I just used the extra space and created Cass World. It got so big though, it got WAY bigger than the business part of it LOL
So, Rob came up with the idea the other day to get my own domain

We checked it out and while cassworld.com was taken already, .ca wasn't

plus it's easier to remember than
www.questsend.com/cassworld.html
