Got my AP rate at CBR...finally

I have been trying since yesterday(Thurs.) morning at 3:50am (that's right-I'm in CA) to get the AP rate for CBR from 12/11 to 12/16. Was told yesterday, no such luck, but keep calling!! Tried this morning and the rep mentioned that the rate was available starting on 12/13, so...I graciously asked if I could "split" my reservation. So this is what I now have set up... arrive 12/11 and "technically" check out on 12/13 with the regular rack rate of $149.00 per night(incl. tax). Then I check "back in" from 12/13 and out 12/16 with the AP rate of $89.00 per night(incl tax). I hope this won't be confusing when we arrive, but, hey, for the extra savings, we'll deal with it!!!
Any suggestions as to how I can request to stay in the same room when I fax in my requests before we arrive?? Thanks...

What exactly do you mean when you say AP rate? (maybe I'm being just a little thick today after all it is Friday)

Just have the CM note on your reservation that it is a continuing reservation and mention this to the CM when you check in. Chances are you won't have to change rooms. Also, try again next week, you never know when an AP rate room will open up.

I don't have any advice for you regarding staying in the same room (sorry) but just wanted to say I hope you have a great time at CBR. I stayed there 2 years ago (in the Jamaica section) and loved it. Have a wonderful trip!!

Thanks to everyone for all the info on the CBR!! Our trip is planned for Dec. 11-16 and boy are we ready for some fun and relaxation. This trip is "sort of" in honor of my daughter's recent graduation from Cal State, Fresno and WOOHOO she's teaching 3rd grade and loving it!! Thanks again to all and I'm sure as the trip draws near, I'll be needing more questions answered...
