Just came back from my local Fleet Feet. This is a great place to buy shoes. I highly recommend it for anyone walking or running. They really know how to fit you for the right shoe. :thumbsup2I purchased the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11. They feel a little different from my Sauconys. I can't wait to try them out. Waiting for the rain to let up. It has rained for the past 3 days. :rolleyes1

I used to run in Adrenaline's a few years ago. Good shoes. Recently I've been on a Mizuno Wave Elixir kick (last 2 years straight, looking like a third, just havent found another shoe I liked as much). What Saucony's were you using?

Woohoo!! I just switched from Asics (I was in the 2150s and my feet hated the 2160s) to Brooks Adrenaline 11s and LOVE them!!!

I have run exclusively on Adrenaline's for years. Great shoes!! And I have been very lucky trolling the 'net and getting them for good prices.

No, are Asics changing? They've been my shoes forever thanks to my high arches, and I'm always afraid to try something new

Shoe brands often change their shoe models each year to the point where the new model fits nothing like the old one. It's frustrating when you love a certain shoe, and they change it on you! The best thing to do is bring your old shoes (or at least remember what model shoe you were wearing) into your local specialty running store and let them fit you for shoes if you've heard that the new model has changed too much from the old.
Also keep in mind that a shoe + an insert like Superfeet may be the best combination for your foot, especially if you have high arches.

All brands and models change some every year. The manufacturers use new materials, new molds, and add new features, all of which can change the way they fit. I only run on Asics after Brooks shoes caused me knee pain, and I've noticed that their three most recent models, the Kayano-15, 16, and 17, each have a completely different fit and feel. I love the 15s and 17s and am not crazy about the 16s. They just feel odd to me, so instead of stocking up on them at sales and expos, I'm buying the 17s and as many 15s as I can find.

I'm surprised to hear you didn't like the 2160s. I've been wearing that shoe for years and years....i personally loved the updated and heard nothing but great things about it from others as well..but of course it totally depends on the person. this is just the first negative i've heard about the shoe. sorry to hear they didn't work for you, but glad you found something that did!

Fleet Feet is my running store of choice. I have never had a bad experience at our local store and they are very involved in the local running scene.

I've also been lucky with my shoes from year to year. I wear the Mizuno Wave Riders and so far they haven't made any changes that have messed with how I run in them. Hopefully that trend will continue.

I do use Superfeet inserts but I'll have to replace those when I get new shoes. They've been squeaking, so if I run errands after going to the gym, I get a little self conscience with the squeaking. On the weekends I workout in the morning so the stores I hit up after are very quiet, and I feel like the squeaking is so loud. I feel like Edgar in the AristoCats :lmao:

"I still say it was a little ol' cricket bug."

Update on my new Brooks. I don't like them.:confused3 I have gone for 3 runs in them and my feet hurt after 2 miles. Yesterday, I went back to my Sauconys and did not have any pain. I am going to call Fleet Feet today and see if I can trade them for something else. I really hate it. The Brooks are so cute. I have to find something soon. I have a 10K next Saturday and the Princess run the next Saturday. :scared1:

I took my Brooks back today and traded them in for a pair of Nike Pegasus + 27. Hope these work better for me. I'm leaving now to try them out. Going to do 13.5 today. :)

I used to love the Mizuno Wave Riders. I have the 13 and loved them but Mizuno just came out with the 14 and I hated it. Too much shoe for me.

So I just switched to the Brooks Ghost 3 and I'm loving them.:thumbsup2

I'm still in the 13's. I hope that isn't the case for me. What didn't you like about them?

I really wanted to love the 14s because I love my 13s.

When I tried on the 14s, the toebox felt a lot smaller (like I would need to go up a half size) and the heel cup was tighter and more cushioned. I read that they changed the heel cup to fit more snugly around the heel, and for me, it was too much cushioning. The whole shoe also felt a lot firmer/stiffer.

I thought about buying them and seeing if I would grow to like the changes. It was a hard decision but in the end, they were just too different - personally, I don't like a lot of extra cushioning. It feels like my feet are being smothered.

If you happen to try on the 14s, I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Jennifer

I'll definitely be trying them on but maybe not before the expo for the National half next month.

How are the Pegasus working out for you?

Just ordered the new Wave Elixir 6's should be here tomorrow (no one around me keeps them in stock for whatever reason). I loved the 4's. The 5's here's something weird. I didnt really love my first set of 5's but they were fine shoes. But then I got a 2nd set (really good deal on runningwarehouse) and it was like night and day and bought a 3rd set right away- again totally happy with those 2 sets, loved as much as the 4's. Supposedly the only difference was the color, but the material felt much more breathable. They had done like a half year update.
