Got back last night from SL. Here's a quick report:

Saturday - Stayed overnight at Crowne Plaza at Manchester which was fine as usual. This time we had pre-booked parking in the short stay car park at T3. Very easy to use. Just go in and park. Call for attention at the end of stay and quote booking reference and they let you out.

Sunday - Flew BA to CDG. Increased security not a problem on the way out (see below for coming home!!!). Used VEA to get to DLRP - they seem to be using a new route on the way there which cuts the journey time down to around 30 minutes.

Arrived at SL around 12.30 and our room was ready - we had booked a standard Montana room and were given 2128 with a lake view - although through trees as it is on the 2nd floor.

Lunch at Rainforest Cafe - very busy and I feel that the food has gone downhill. Spent a little time in DL park and Disney Village then back to hotel for snacks in the bar and to bed.

Monday - Heavy rain all day. Brightened up late afternoon. Spent time at Studios. Dinner at Annettes - very good.

Tuesday - Rain again but brightened up in the evening. Went to DL park and then had lunch at Cafe Mickey - excellent.

Wednesday - Warm and sunny. Went to DL park again. Ended up having dinner at King Ludwigs. Tried to eat at Beaver Creek at the SL but it was closed every night.

Thursday - Hot and sunny (best weather of the trip). Spent time in both parks. Had lunch at Blue Lagoon - very good - and dessert at Annettes - before leaving for the airport late afternoon.

Used VEA again - buses on time - nothing to complain about. Checked in at CDG and went to departure gate. Each gate has it's own security - everything is x-rayed and they were hand searching all bags also. This was fine as everyone expects increased security these days. We then sat in the lounge until time to board the bus to take us to the plane. The plane seats less than 100 people so the lounge not that full. What everyone could not understand was that they then did another hand search of every item of hand baggage before we were allowed to board the bus to the plane. How we could have obtained anything dangerous in the short time we were sat there, without access to the outside world, is anyone's guess!! This procedure took about 45 mins as there was only 1 person doing it!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Anyway that's it for now. More detailed report will follow soon. Feel free to ask any questions in the meantime.

Thanks for posting quick preview of your trip. Sounds like you had a great time.
Look forward to the "full monty" :thumbsup2

Welcome back :wave2:

Interesting that you felt food at Rainforest had gone downhill. We ate there for the first time and although the theming was good we weren't terribly impressed with the food.

Looking forward to hearing more. :goodvibes

Thank you for your thoughts. :)
We have ate twice at Rain Forest Cafe however we only ate the second time as my dd loves the theming, I would agree that the food is not very special.
We have always loved cafe mickey though.

Shame as we have previously had good meals there :guilty:

Yes, we were pleased about the increased security; however having our hand luggage checked twice was confusing.
My poor mum had purchased an expensive bottle of fanta after the first security check ( From the departure lounge shop - on air side) for 3.90 euros, only to have it taken away at the second bag check. :confused3 :confused3

Hi, we got back yesterday.

We found the Rainforest a little dispointing, server took 20 minutes to take our menu and drink order.

DD was siting eating away at a chesse burger, when i happened to look at her hand, the burger was raw inside, we sent it back. they did give us another one and her meal was free. It seemed there was only 1 server to clean the tables away, wash the tables, take your order and hand it out, quite a few people commented to her that she was very busy.

CDG airport, well i'll leave that to my trip report.
