I'll be cruising on the Wonder 5/11. I booked a category 12 and was listed as GTY until today. I checked and I've been upgraded to stateroom #2040, a category 9! I am so excited! I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed in 2040 or one close by.

Haven't been on a DCL cruise yet, but wanted to congratulate you on your cool upgrade! :cool1: :cool1:

Did you check the DCL sight or was it written in your cruise docs?

I have also booked a cat 12 GTY with DCL and was wondering if you eventually get to see this on the reservation sight.

Good news for you!!!! Hope I get lucky too. I'M just happy to be able to afford this cruise. I'd take any stateroom, that is why I booked cat 12 GTY.

nluvwithmickey, I found out from the DCL website. I haven't received my docs yet. I hope you get some pixie dust and get an upgrade as well. :sunny:

Can anyone tell me how to check my ressie/room assignment on the DCL website? Can I do it if I booked through a trael agent? Every time I enter a confirmation/ressie number (the one my TA gave me) I get an error message. Thanks!

No, Impossible...The travel agents are the only ones able to do anything on the DCL website..I know.. it sucks...

Sorry, silly question ... new to the cruise forum, so I'm a little dense. What does GTY stand for?

As well, I thought that the cruises were generally at capacity. So how would one get an upgrade? Could it be that someone who booked really early requesting Cat 12 gets bumped up when more people ask for the same category but no staterooms available? Kind of like a potential "early booking bonus" ? :teeth:

Thanks for the info.

exactly!! GTY , guarenteed room, w/o a room number in a certain catagory.

Congrats Julie! :cool1:

Their's probably hope for me yet then if they are still offering them. I did the same thing and booked a CAT 12, cause' I am just happy to get onboard and that's all the budget will allow this time around. Though, I have never sailed in a inside stateroom on any ship (not even DCL) I felt I could do it if I had to with DCL cause' I've seen the other cruiseships inside staterooms and I wouldn't do it on any other ship.
But, I am still hoping for a upgrade at least to an oceanview anywhere...DECK2 is fine I've been there several times and had a great time!
I guess we'll wait and see for me....I have plenty of time to sweat it out. <BG>

...sailing DCL 2/2/06

Congratulations on your upgrade!!!!!! :cool1:
Last summer we got upgraded from cat 11 to cat 9. It was great! But now this time I just had to book a cat 9 to get the porthole. :flower:
