Got all of the FP+ we wanted including A&E- shocked

After all of the horror stories I've read about how difficult these FP+ are to book, I was dreading booking them- its our first trip back since FP+ started. Arriving on Thanksgiving, staying 9 days. Our booking window opened at midnight this morning.

We got A&E x2 (dropped the less preferable time), SDMT x2, all of the headliners, and I was able to go back and re-select times so that we can hammer through all of them in the mornings before park hopping in the afternoon.

I assumed this was going to be harder than it actually was. I know that after Thanksgiving is typically a slower time, but that almost seemed too easy.

I was there the week after Thanksgiving last year and was really scared about FP+, also we were staying offsite and my dad booked the trip and didn't get us our tickets till about a week before we left, so I couldn't book FP+ till a week out. I got everything I wanted at a time that worked with the exception being SDMT. It also seemed too easy.

We are staying 9 days on the front side of Thanksgiving and had similar good luck with FP+. I'm guessing that the 9 days part is helpful and booking from the last day to the first was smart! I feel much better about FP+ now after reading a lot of bad things online.

I think this really supports the theory that they offer less capacity in the slower season. I'm not surprised at all to find more available 60 days out from Thanksgiving when higher crowds are expected. My guess is that the reason people have been having trouble recently is because they have fewer A/E pairs meeting, and that they have more again now for Thanksgiving weekend.

I was pleasantly surprised last night too! We also arrive on Thanksgiving. I've been watching the fastpass availability on the dibb site and A&E has been consistently booked 5 to 7 days out, but the last three days they've only been booked 3 days out past the 60 day mark. Mine train was consistently booked to 63 days as well and I didn't think I'd get it for our first MK day, but the past three days it has been available at the 60 day mark and still is. I think mom2rtk is correct about the A&E pairs, not sure what is up with mine train availability.

I can't figure out the Mine Train either. But I'm still not convinced it's just the shorter hours of the less busy season. Maybe they staff down some and have to run fewer cars?

We are staying for 9 nights a couple weeks before you and I was able to get the hard to get FP+'s and when I wanted them too. Even got SDMT twice, once on a MVMCP after 4p and A+E on our last day at the park, didn't bother trying earlier in the week though The Dibb showed it as available. As a PP did, we also booked from the last day backwards.

Same thing with us. No issues. We will be there during F&W during marathon week.
While I am sure people posting their difficulties getting FP here are true, there are just as many that are getting exactly what they want.

Most packages are for 4-7 days. Hence if you have more than that, you will definitely be able to book for the later days when your window opens.
