I am very excited to be getting a Wii and Wii Fit Plus!!!:banana:

Now I need some help with the rest.

The Wii came with one controller, the sports games. What do I need to purchase?

What about suggestions with games and other accessories? Anything you really like or not like?

Any suggestions for Wii Fit Plus?

Thanks for all your help!!

Happy New Year!!!

We too just got a wii here in our house.
We are a family of 4, but DS does not live with us, he lives on his Univ. campus, so we bought 2 additional controllers/nunchucks along with 3 wheels.

Games we got to go with it:
Mario Kart - this is super fun, we all have been playing it for 2 days. DS is here for Christmas and brought his roomies controller with him so we have 4.
Sports Resort
Glee Karaoke

Next will be the wii Fit Plus with the balance board.

The family tennis match last night was hillarious and the bowling was a lot of fun. However, Mario Kart is a blast, we have laughed like fools!

We got a wii for Christmas too. It came with Wii Sports, Mario, and a motion plus controller and nunchuck. I bought an additional controller and nunchuck. We also got some games for each of us. Ds13 got a hunting game and fishing game from Bass Pro that came with a gun and a rod and reel. After struggling to put the controllers in and take them out, I went to Amazon.com and ordered two cheap controllers/nunchucks that can just stay permanently in them. I also got a double charging station and a wheel, but haven't used them yet.

I haven't had time to open the wii fit yet, but our favorite game so far is Just Dance 2. The kids and I have had so much fun wiht it! I got Epic Mickey, and dd11 says it is fun. I haven't had time to play it yet.

I'm so glad I bought a Wii tower from JCPenny. THey are on sale now for around $40. So easy to put together, and holds everything except the gun and rod/reel, wheel, and Wii fit stuff.

Is this just for you or for a family? I am a Mom who likes just dance 2

It is DH and I - our youngest is going back to college and the oldest lives in Florida working for the mouse!!

What is the difference between a controller and a nunchuck?

Thanks!!

toy story mania! that is so much fun!

we have a few of the game nite games, but for some reason, i'm too much of a spazz to play a few of them

and my favorite take the stress away...the deer hunter game. i don't care for hunting in real life, but i love that game!

You use the nun chuck with the controller for some games like boxing. It connects to the controller. Seems like ours came with one. If you like to dance just dance is fun and exercise. I mainly play we sports and wii fit. I also like the guitar hero games

I would suggest Wii Play, which comes with a lot of cool mini games like pool, ping pong, and a game very similar to Duck Hunt. Wii Play comes with a second controller.

Depending on the number of people who live with you or you will have over to play, you might want to buy up to two more controllers.

A nunchuck for each controller is important for a lot of games,

As for games, I just got Epic Mickey, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. There is a Super Mario Bros Wii game, along with the 25th Ammiversary Super Mario All Starts game, which has a lot of the old Mario games.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is another great game. Or you might want to try a first-person-shooter like Call of Duty.

I would also suggest buying rechargeable battery packs for your Wii remotes. ATC Digital makes a charger that can hold two or four remotes at once. I got this for Christmas, and it's great. Otherwise, you will have to buy a LOT of batteries. If you do buy batteries, get lithium.

If you want to use your Wii to help with an exercise program, you might consider getting Wii Fit, which comes with a game and a balance board. Or EA Active (there is a regular fitness version and a "NFL Training Camp" version).

I forgot to mention, if you have a Netflix account, and you have a way of connecting your Wii to your home network (either by a wireless router or by wire), you can download the Netflix channel from the Wii Shopping Channel and set up your Wii to play movies instantly on your TV.

The only downside to this is that the Wii only allows up to 480p resolution, so you won't get HD quality video.

Thanks for the suggestion - any others? Planning on going shopping for the controllers today!!!
