Got a room for 12/1-12/5...so EXCITED!!

My parents decided today to join us for our trip 12/1-12/5. My dad just found out he has a business mtg on the 6th in Jacksonville, so it worked out great. My mom was just saying the other day that she was bummed they had decided not to go with us this time. But the best part of this is when I looked online for grins last week there was no availablity. When my father found out about his mtg today I quickly checked online to see if there was a possibility. It said there was a room available at CSR where we are staying. I did not want to trust the site, so called res and the CM said he was not showing a room avail. I asked him to see if any other resorts avail and he said there are no rooms at any resorts available for our dates. Can this be possible? I told him that in front of me that it said there was a room available at CSR. He said to try and book, but most likely it was gone already and to try a 3rd party for bboking a room. So....I continued with the res and it worked. They have a room booked at CSR. When I called to confirm my res and add some details the res was not behaving and long story short after an 1.5hrs on the phone the res is legit and all set. They even linked my res to theirs, so hopefully we can have adjoining rooms. Anyone have suggestions for which section of CSR to book and what do you think my chances are of having adjoining rooms?

So, after that excitement. I came home to my mom watching the kids while I worked today and handed her the reservation in her name. SHE WAS SO EXCITED! Her and the kids were jumping up and down. She said that she was getting so sad that she was not going and what an awesome surprise. Disney magic here we come. Now, I have to see if there any ADR's avail for parties of 6.

Now, here is the question I have for all of you. If all the Disney hotels are booked is it going to be crazy busy? We booked this week b/c it is supposed to be one of the quietest times to go. Last time we went Feb break and we said never again. It was too crazy for my 5yr old to handle. What do all of you pros think? Will it be nuts there? Is it typical for all the resorts to be booked?

I've been going this week for the past few years and since 2001, it has steadily gotten busier each year, but I don't think it'll be "crazy busy" as it is later in the month. A few groups will be there at that time - Mousefest Dec. 1-4 and Pop Warner (mostly at the AS resorts) Dec. 4-10. Also it's a very popular time for DVC and I've heard all DVC resorts are sold out for that week. I'll be at WDW and US/IOA Dec. 2-8 and am hoping it won't be nuts!!

When we went at the end of Sept., everyone was reporting that resorts were sold out because of the free dining and MNSSHP/F&W Fest. We were pretty much able to walk on MOST rides at that time, so hopefully it'll hold true fro early Dec.

We are booked this year for Dec 2-11th and had we not already purchased our MVMCP tickets we would have changed to the following week. Discounts were available at all resorts the following week and the only thing I was able to get the week we are going is AAA at POFQ. We really wanted WL, but without a discount it was too expensive. Even that package discount that was released blocked out Dec. 4-10th, I'm thinking because of Pop Warner.
