Got a question regarding Extra Hours

The day I plan to go to Magic Kingdom, it has 'extra hours' in the evening. First of all, I am staying onsite, so all I need is my ticket and my resort ID? Then, when and how do I get the wristband? Can I get it when I get to the park in the morning? Then, how long are the extra hours? Are they always the same, different??

You won't be able to get a writsband until later that day. The time seems to vary some though. Sometimes you can't get one until 7pm but other times they'll pass them out at 4pm so who knows. Officialy it's 2 hours before the park is scheduled to close regularly. There are several locations to get your wristband. This is what the Dis site lists:

Castle Hub
Caribbean Plaza
Riverboat Landing
Seven Dwarf's Mine
Timekeeper Entrance
They'll have a sign near these places.

You will need your admission ticket to get in the park and your resort ID to get the wristband. Each person in your party will need to wait in line with you for the wristband. They (usually) will not let you have more than one wristband even if you have everyone's ID.

I've heard that they've started asking for a picture ID. Can anyone confirm this?

We were there 2 days ago. They did not ask for picture ID. IMHO though, I would consider going to Magic Kingdom on other days if I were you. Both times we went on EMH Evening days it was packed, even until late in the night. On Monday night, we could not even walk around in certain parts of the park. We stayed the longest hours those days and were able to ride the fewest rides. The days immediately after EMH Evenings were fairly uncrowded. We made great progress on those mornings. Just something to consider.

FWIW - I always bring a picture ID with me - I wouldn't leave my home without it so I don't travel WDW without it. I have had issues with my ap acting up and needed ID. In addition even at "over 40" I have needed it to purchase a "beverage". I have been asked to show ID in addition to my park pass and resort ID for EMH so, "to be prepared is not to be dissapointed".
