my dad gets these cyst things on his back. Whenever he visits he makes me squeeze them. ACK!!! My mom won't do it for him. Gee, wonder why? Things you do for people you love.

Yup, I'm a squeezer for my dad. ACK! (ummmm, that didn't sound quite right). BUT, I don't think I would put it on u-tube.

And yes, it STINKS!!!!

I should add after watching some of those, that I'm CONSTANTLY wiping & applying rubbing alcohol & I don't touch with my hands. I have paper towels between my hands & IT. Hasn't had one turn to infection yet -- unlike at least one video I saw there.

OMG! I wanted to show dh a pic of a Snow White b'day cake that was posted on the b'day cake thread I started, and dh was scared to come look! He thought I was tricking him into watching one of the youtube videos of a zit popping!

I am totally grossed out just reading this thread, but thought I should reply since I am currently going through a very serious illness due to staph infection. My torso broke out with several "pimples" one of which became abcessed and had to be cut open and drained. I'm sitting here with a hole in my stomach stuffed full with gauze packing. I have had severe pain for almost a week now (this all started last Tuesday and I have been taking vicodin for pain since Wednesday...I just got the area lanced and drained at the ER yesterday). What I have is called MRSA. Look it up on google. It's a scary thing....becoming more and more prevalant in the community. It should not be taken lightly. Please go have your "boils" checked out by the Dr.

Again, those u-tube videos are probably showing all the wrong ways. No gloves, no alcohol. Lots of touching from bare hands. All wrong.

I did lance a cyst that was on my scalp. I used an new IV needle (we have them at home because we give the cat IV fluids every day). Cleaned area with alcohol. Lanced. Alcohol again. Dispose of needle properly. I had to do it 3 times since it kept returning -- how ever it wasn't cheesy -- just watery. Dr actually asked me if I wanted a job.
