Got A Part!

I auditioned for "MAME" this past weekend and just got a call from the director.

I got the part of Vera Charles (Bea Arthur role)!! He said it was a close run for me for the part of Mame, but he cast another woman as Mame and said he thought I could steal the show as Vera! I'm excited! It sounds like a real comedic part and I have a solo and a duet with Mame.

We don't start rehearsals until mid-September, which is good cause I open next week in "California Suite" (Maggie Smith role).

Mame opens at the end of October. BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! But, I LOVE IT!

Congratulations! Vera is a GREAT part! (so is Mame, so is Gooch...darn that show is full of good roles for women!). I'm sure you'll have a blast.

Wow there seems to be a lot of the casting thing going around the DIS lately!

FOJMO....many congrats! Mame is an oustanding show and Viera has to be on emore the more solid female comic characters in musical theatre history! Gotta love playing the straight man...er...woman!

I myself just recently was cast in a brand new musical called Smokey Mountain Mist. The details I have on the show right now are sketchy at best but I do know the cast me totally against type which will be a real challenge for me.

Like others have said please post pics when the show goes up...

Hey maybe we should set up a DIS theatre picture post forum! There's enough of us...well two right now but who knows how many others lurk out there!

Thanks, and Congrats to you too! I do know that AngieBelle is a fellow thespian. Also Kelli (TC), I think. Annie&Hallie'sMom is a theatre buff too. Also BriarRose is really up on theatre too.

I'll share some pictures, if I ever figure out the procedure. I tried to post some when I was in "Gypsy" earlier in the year and never did figure it out!
