For those who didn't click the link, HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. Many cameras/phones can take an HDR photo for you directly. Manually, you take a series of shots of the same image but you change the exposure each time, for example -1,0,+1, on subsequent shots so that when you combine the shots into a composite, you get the highs and lows, the shadows, etc. Generally HDR photos really pop. Some are taken to the extreme and look like cartoons, done correctly, HDR can be a really cool way to look at something familiar in a different light, pun intended.
