Late night last night at MK... got a blister forming at the base of the big toe.
Gonna change shoes today. Tough area to put a bandaid.
Will try to put a large bandaid under all the toes. Maybe wrap with tape around all the toes.?
Not sure theres much else to do now....

Sometimes I will put powder in my socks. That helps a little I think. I think changing the shoes will be your best bet.

Check with first aid. I had to do this their bandaids are great. They have the ones that will wrap around your toe, so much better than using a regular bandaid. They also have the large ones you can put on the ball of your foot.

:donald:That's why I like going at a slow leisurely pace. You race around trying to get everything in on the first day, and then you get blisters and you're in pain rest of the trip!:goofy:

Listen, I had blisters by the end of the first day at Disney every single time I went. By the end of the week, I could hardly walk my blisters were so bad. Everyone says try this shoe or that shoe or these socks or those socks. All I had to was rub Vaseline on the bottom of my feet & toes each morning to prevent blisters. You rub it on generously, then put your socks and shoes on. I know it sounds messy, but by the end of the day when you take of your socks, there will be no gooey mess left and no blisters. It's simple and It works. Good luck.

Get some blister band aids if you can. Those suckers really stay put and really help. You could also put moleskin on the shoe in the area rubbing that caused the blister. At this point since you have a blister, do not apply the moleski di

This! Seriously, it works.

You should have seen my Disney blister...I'm pretty sure it was an entity all to itself! It was a scary thing!! I'll keep the Vaseline in mind for our next trip!

Vaseline? Interesting...but it worked?!? I will take some just in case on my next trip. Anything to stop a blister.

I carry Compeed Blister Plasters everywhere (not just at WDW!) and seem to think they do special toe ones. Can you get Compeed in the US?

YES. It's so simple and it works. I had multiple blisters every single time I spent a few days at Disney. You will be reluctant to put your foot in to a sock with the bottom of your foot covered in Vaseline, but it works so well and there will be no mess at the end of the day. It has been a big life saver for me since blisters were a regular problem for me. The Vaseline eliminates the friction that causes the blisters.

1. Put a little piece of tissue over the blister, just enough to cover it.
2. Cut a strip of moleskin (the Dr. Scholl's sticks best) wide enough to cover the blister and long enough to wrap around your entire toe. I like to curve the corners of the moleskin- seems to not roll as easily as square corners.

This works for me every time I get a blister. It provides cushioning while staying in place. I get really bad blisters under my the big callus on my big toe, and this is what I do for relief.

Prevention is always best. I've used Body Glide with great success in the past. Never heard of using Vaseline before but if it works, its worth a shot.

I've never had success with Band-Aids. Even the blister Band-Aids seem to loosen and roll up once I start sweating. What I do is cut off the adhesive wings of the bandaid, and apply just the gauze part to the blister. Then I apply a large piece of moleskin over it. The tip about rounding the corners really works. At least for me, the moleskin will hold all day, and provides cushioning to the blister. I carry some precut moleskin in my park bag and use it immediately if I feel a hot spot forming. Stops it from becoming a blister.

I have to wrap my 2 middle toes in bandaids before I ever start or I will have blisters on them by the end of the first day. I use the small cloth bandaids. Plastic ones don't stick nearly as well.

For running events I now use bodyglide and Vaseline. Vaseline was my unexpected friend during the very rainy Wine and Dine run last year.

And those are along with good non cotton wicking socks.

What works for running should work for touring.
