Does anyone (else) use Google Earth to plan out your park visits, both on the way to WDW and while you're actually in the parks?

Answer the poll and discuss in the thread below.

I use Google Earth all the time, especially when planning roadtrips, and even inside the park forays as well.

In fact, I've been known to open it up and just wander around WDW from a few thousand feet up...

Lol. I just did this the other day, for the first time! I've never pulled up google earth before, but I was trying to explain to someone where I watched illuminations from last year, and pulled up Epcot and marked it, so she could see. Then, I ended up spending an hour looking around WDW and figuring out some other stuff. I also pullied up the MK map for her on MDE, and took a screen shot of it and labeled the attractions she wanted to go to in order numerically, so she knew what was best to do.

It's fascinating, who would have thought the show building for IASW and Haunted Mansion are side by side?

The design of the parks is very clever and using Google Earth is one way to demonstrate this.

If you turn on the 3D buildings and zoom all the way in until you are basically onto the the equivielent of Google Maps Street View, you can "walk" around the parks.

Though it's a very poor replacement for the real thing. There are several issues with laying a one dimensional map on a three dimensional space, it's still fun to do.

Indeed -- Disneyland Paris has a very detailed overlay with legible signs.
