Google Chrome?

Has anyone here used Google Chrome? What do they think? Will it take over other browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox?
Discuss. :goodvibes

sounds like it might be more secure if you are on an Apple? I am very interested once the Beta stage gets further down the road.

I have been using it since day one of its release. I like it. SO far I haven't had any problems with it.

Haven't those vulnerabilities been fixed? The quoted versions are lower than the version I have.

It does seem a shame though, but I guess thats why its beta. I just use it at the moment to browse trusted sites, because of its speed :-)
I can't understand how the scroll bug wasn't found earlier
(perhaps none of the developers use laptop mouse pads :P, or maybe it just wasn't considered a priority?)

It is fixed now in developer builds though i believe (you can subscribe to the dev channel to receive more updates at dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel ...or download the patcher in my sig to just quickly fix the scroll bug)

Those are just the exploits that have been found, so far. The product simply hasn't been subjected to anywhere near the same level of scrutiny that Firefox and IE are subjected to, so it may be quite a while before Google Chrome begins to approach the same level of security as Firefox and IE.

Good point!

I'll still be using it for browsing of trusted sites though I guess... (maybe just because of the user interface? :P) I don't think there are any sites that I visit that are particularly untrustworthy. I'm tempted to start running almost every program in its own sandbox using Sandboxie...that really is secure! (or perhaps in its own Virtual Machine...:rolleyes1 )

Beware of any sites that have any advertising. Even the DISboards cannot attest to the trustworthiness of included content in advertising. For example, on this page, alone, there is content sourced from all the following domains:

disboards.com (of course)
wdwinfo.com (also safe, of course)
130.94.73.203
boardtracker.com

Actually, I'm really quite impressed... I figured that the DISboards was like most other discussion boards. Here's a comparison to a more typical discussion board, that uses the same (vBulletin) software:

*.avsforum.com (the specific discussionboard)
www.google.com
*.quantserve.com
www.google-analytics.com
pagead2.googlesyndication.com

Do we trust Google? How about quantserve.com?

I like some of the features, but it bugs me to the end of the world that it wont let me upload anything into photobucket. :sad2:

There was another program I couldn't use with Chrome too, but I can't remember what it was.

Haha i was wondering whether you would bring up that point...you really are on the ball :goodvibes
And of course, Chrome doesn't include an ad blocker lol
It does technically appear to support plugins though...i may look into that.
