I myself really like firefox and thats what I would like to keep using. I found I had a lot more options with using the "skin" of firefox. A lot more to choose from and found its also easier to use than chrome.
I use Firefox. It is the most secure of the browsers espeically if you take advantage of some plug-ins (NoScript especially). While I am a fan of Google they have enough of my information not to feed them more by using their browser. Some of the shortfalls of FireFox (mostly the way the tabs interact with the process) will be addressed in version 4 which is already in Beta.
My kids love Firefox....and Chrome almost as much.
They deleted Internet Explorer from their computers. Then they went to apply online for summer jobs, and EVERY place had forms that only worked with Internet Explorer. They were outraged. But I told them that's the difference between the leading edge internet users like them, and the real business world where companies are still using Windows 95 to run their networks.
I like chrome, but I use opera the most. I like the fast that it saves my webpages even when I close it.
Firefox seems to be extremely popular, and some sites even have layovers. One of my old favorite websites has changed its looks several times over the years, but there's several users that prefer the old "classic" look, that they've created an overlay to use with firefox to get that classic look.
I alternate between Firefox and Chrome depending on what sites I want to view. But Chrome gets used the most. It just seems faster to me. I do use Firefox for the Dis and other chatboards that I frequent because that seems to work better there. But for Facebook and just normally surfing the web, I use Chrome.
I stick with Firefox because of all the add-ons for it that I use every day, like Greasemoney, Update Scanner, Xmarks, Adblock plus, Showcase, and especially Flashblock.
I was an avid Firefox user for many years...In the last year I switched to Chrome, as I was having a LOT of issues with crashes on Firefox. I find every site I go to has no issues with it, except for a few Facebook games that want a toolbar, but I dont use that anyway..so Chrome for me!
Firefox is much better than chrome as it is user friendly and has plenty of options. I really enjoy Grease money and Flash block. I tried using chrome but was not able to adjust.
Don't know if this will help you make your decision but it could be a factor. We got a bad virus from a gaming site (we think) my DD went to. It literally 'froze' the browsers on our computer. It disabled both Explorer and Firefox - and we could not get to the 'start-up' of our anti-virus software. The only browser that worked was Chrome - apparently the hackers concentrated on the more common and accessible browsers. And my DH was able to use access to Chrome to get the anti-virus software running. Without Chrome, we would have been totally stuck!
