Goofy's or Ariel's for dinner

We have a coupon for the "lunch prices for dinner" at Ariel's but I have heard so many comments about poor food and service there that I'm wondering if we should pay the extra for Goofy's.

Does anyone know the prices for Goofy's - lunch or dinner?

Another consideration is our 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter might prefer a more "sophisticated" eatery.... thinking of splitting up our large group and only taking the 7 and 9 year old to the character meals.

Thanks for any input~

My 12 yo DD loves Goofy's. And your son may like the all you can eat aspect of Goofy's. If your son is like most 14 yo boys, your pocketbook might enjoy the all you can eat at goofy's also. :)

My little brother(12) loved both Goofy and Ariels. I prefer Ariels myself. But if you think your kids would like the buffet vs the sit down set menu then do Goofys. You can't go wrong with either choice!pirate:

Goofy's price for breakfast/lunch (served from 7am [I think] until 1pm, last seating at 12:30) is 20.00 for adults and I think around 13.00 kids 3-9.

We had breakfast at Goofy's in last October and it was good. The food was decent and the character interaction was WONDERFUL. For theree adults and one child our bill was 82.00

We also ate at Ariels in December and I like it much better than Goofy's, but at Goofy's I was too busy getting food for my two girls and taking them to meet Snow White to even get to eat more than a bite of a waffle.

For dinner at Ariels we sat outside on the water and it was so pretty. We had a GREAT server, his name was Kevin, I have no idea if he is still there, but he was GREAT. Our food was also great. I had the salmon Blt and I'm hooked. I even make them at home, but they aren't as good as there. My sister had the fish and chips, but said they tasted 'fishy', whatever that means. When ever we wanted a character to come by the table we just asked Kevin and he made it happen. My nephew wasn't too crazy about them at first, so Kevin would tell them to just wave from far away, but by the end of the meal my nephew was hugging and kissing them. Chip and Dale were there and kidding around with him. Playing peek a boo and hiding behind other people.

I also had read that the food wasn't very good and the service was sketchy, so I was up front with Kevin when we arrived. Like I said, he was Wonderful. We never had a half full glass and he brought an extra sand pail for my nephew, who didn't order a meal. At the end of the night he was shocked with his tip (it was about 30%) and came back over to thank us again and give the kids extra cotton candy. :Pinkbounc

Dinner at the lunch price might make the savings for Ariels a better deal than Goofy's and the Characters at Ariels are just as wonderful. Too take a look at the menu of Ariels check out www.colddeadfish.net

One benefit of Ariels is not having to leave the park and go over to the DL hotel. The food there isnt gourmet dining but we have always enjoyed it very much and we have been 10 or 12 times in the past couple of years. If you have a coupon for it then I would say go for it. I prefer it over GK myself.

Another vote for Ariels.
Last Dec. we ate there, outside at night and it was great. The heaters they have out there will keep you warm. Seeing Paradise Pier at night with all its light on was great and you are right there after dinner.
To be honest I was not crazy about Goofys. I have twins and I was at the buffet getting their food constantly. I had to eat my food much too fast instead of relaxing.
Especially with coupons I would try Ariels. Its harder to take a picture with her than some of the other charaters so you will have a chance there and Goofy was there also when we went.princess:

I'm sure they would both be fine, but I do love Ariel's. Don't discount the possibility of bringing the older kids along. We had a 17, 18, and 19 year old along on this last trip and they loved every minute of it. I got great pictures of Pluto "helping" my son eat fish and chips and then proposing to my daughter. It was hilarious. It is often difficult to get teens to pose with characters (definately won't stand in line), but at the character meals they can't help but get in the mood.
