Goofy's Kitchen or Storytellers Cafe ?

We want to take DS ( 3.5yrs) to either Goofy's Kitchen or storytellers Cafe for breakfast. Which one should we pick ?

Please advice.

I can only advise about Goofys kitchen (we went last week) and it was excellent. My 4 yr old son loved it there. The characters that day were: Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Peter Pan, Mulan, and a bear (forgive my ignorance i have no clue who it was!) The restaurant was pretty quiet and the characters came around a few times..there was loads of interaction. The food was great, so much to choose from.
We did however go to Lilo & Stitch at PPH and it was nowhere near as good as goofys and i can't recommend that one.
We walked past storytellers everyday and it always looked busy and saw various bear characters in there. Someone else can comment on it i'm sure

What meal are you going for? If you are willing to eat bad food in order for your son to have fun character interaction, I'd say go to Goofy's. But . . . I'd suggest breakfast. The dinner is, well, not so good. Storyteller's has a nice breakfast buffet (the only meal there with characters) and you'll see Chip & Dale, Rafiki, Turk, and Koda. I can't recall who else, if anyone. The characters may change a little but it's generally jungle-type animals from movies your 3-year old probably hasn't seen. At Goofy's you will see a few princesses, Goofy, Pluto, and who knows who else. We have seen everyone from Chip & Dale to Prince Philip there. Minnie seems to be a fixture. There are also two interactive experiences each hour - doing the twist with Goofy and the other characters, and baking a cake with Goofy. The kids love it!

Just to clarify the previous post, the Lilo & Stitch breakfast is gone and now at the PPH it's the Surf's Up breakfast with Mickey & Friends. I believe it's the only meal where you can meet Mickey. We liked it - it's a little more low key than Goofy's, pretty good food (though not as good as Storyteller's IMO), and cute characters and activities (learn to surf, etc.).

Anyway, between Storytellers and Goofy's, I'd pick Goofy's with a 3 year old.

Goofy's is usually a little noisier than Storytellers. Goofy's has always been a family favorite. They offer a very large buffet to chose from, fun games for the kids to play through-out their meals & on average about 5-7 characters. We always see Chef Goofy & Pluto, then have seen as well: Chip, Dale, Baloo, Brer Fox, Minnie, Alice, Aladdin & Jasmine.

Storytellers is a quieter meal with a game of follow the leader for the kids. The characters are the animal variety: We saw Turk, Meeko, Kenai, Chip, Dale & Brer Fox. The buffet is smaller than Goofy's or you can order off the menu. Keep in the mind the menu prices will be high since you're still playing for the "character experience".

We did the Surf's Up with Mickey & really liked it. This is also a smaller buffet, but they had different types of food that we hadn't seen at the other character meals. This is the only meal Mickey is at! They hula-hoop, surf, dance, etc during this meal. My kids loved this one. They saw in addition to Mickey: Pluto, Goofy, Minnie & Stitch.

You also could look at the Minnie & Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn. Your child's age tells me that characters like Pooh, Tigger & Eeyore might be nice. Minnie's is a buffet that we've seen anywhere from 7-14 characters at. These are more of the "classic" characters. In addition to Minnie as the host & the Winnie the Pooh characters, we've also seen: Chip, Dale, Peter Pan, Hook, Mary Poppins, Alice, Rafiki & Honest John.

Of course there's always Ariel's Grotto with the princesses. The food is served family style & has always been very good. You see Ariel when you come down the stairs & then will see 4 more princesses during your meal. They formally announce them.....lots of fun for princess lovers!!

Maybe i had the name incorrect sorry...but we did this breakfast at the PPH last week. Stitch was the main character as he does the dancing, exercises and surf board stuff at the front for the kids. Yes Minnie & Mickey were there but really only to stand at the front and have photos done. This restaurant was also quiet as in not many people but we were very disappointed in the interaction from the characters, they just didn't seem interested like the ones at Goofys and secondly the food was not great at all. We left there feeling ripped off and said thank goodness we had already done Goofys because if this PPH b'fast had of been our first impression we definitely wouldn't have done anynore.

Based on the suggestions I think we'll take him to Goofy's . I dont think he will enjoy Ariel's and the Princess experience and so I didnt consider that as an option though I can see how much fun it can be for a girl !

Another vote for Goofy's. The breakfast is always good and in my opinion the characteres are more popular than the ones in Storytellers.

If it were me I would choose storytellers, even though they don't really have the classic characters. We have been to Goofy's several times and it disappoints every time. Last time we were completely done with our breakfast and had not yet seen 1 character. We had to just sit there and wait for them to make their way to each us. It was a big disappointment.

I've heard the food at Storytellers is better too...

We have also done both and for me.....it is a toss up. I do love ST food!!! It really is great and the kids really love the follow the leader games. etc. GK was nice for us to meet the more popular characters and the kids did love it there. We usually get a late breakfast that allows us to do some park touring before going in to eat and then the crowds seem to be thinner also which makes for really great character time. We did have one of my favorite Character interactions ever last trip at GK with the Mad Hatter who took the time to draw a map from GF to the Tea Cups and then explain to my two 4 y/o nieces how to follow the map. But those kinds of interactions can happen anywhere.

I have not been to story tellers cafe, but goofys kitchen was a great time! All the kids seemed to be having alot of fun doing the games and activites with goofy. I haver heard that Storytellers cafe is also really good for kids, but have never been

I've been to both recently. My 4.5 dd enjoyed both. There are more characters at Goofy's but my dh and I were suffering character overload by the end. So, if you don't mind lots of characters at your table, go to Goofy's, but if you want a quieter experience with fewer characters go to Storyteller's.

Goofy's kitchen is fun with all the characters but the food isn't very good at all. My parents and younger brother have been to both and say storyteller is much better. Good Luck!

Nothing wrong with that! We went to Storytellers around 7 one morning - there were about half a dozen tables full, so you don't need to make reservations if you are going early. I would book GK in advance.

I've only done goofys kitchen but it was excellent food. There was such a huge selection of food which would be good for picky eaters. The atmosphere was great.

I loved Storytellers! I thought the atmosphere was nicer, more relaxing, the food was good and I loved the characters! Goofy's Kitchen was fun, but we didn't like it as much. I know it is very popular, so perhaps we had an off day. It seemed the characters didn't hang around very long and we waited for an hour before we saw them. We much preferred Storytellers and Minnie's. We plan to do them all again in November, though, so it's not like it was a bad experience at GK. It just didn't impress us as much as the others.

We went to Minnie's in the park last year for breakfast/lunch and saw a bunch of different characters. Both our daughter(4) and son(2) had a great time. Food was pretty good too.
