Would like some help deciding on whether we should do Goofy’s Kitchen or Minnie and Friends.

Both seem to have there pros and cons. The food looks great at Goofy’s Kitchen but Minnie has Pooh there (little bit of a fan of his)…

:thanks:

We are going to do Minnie's because of the character reason too... my daughter won't stop talking about Minnie Mouse and Pooh and Tigger. So I think we will be there for Breakfast. Does anyone remember the site to go get the discounted tickets from? I can't remember and can't find it under search.

Both are good for different reasons. To me, it would depend on where I'm staying. Goofy's is nice in that it has a very large selection of food, far more than Minnie's. I find Goofy's very loud though and it is a bit (lot!) inconvenient to get there. If you're thinking breakfast, you either have to go to Goofy's before getting to the parks (so quite early), or leave the parks and walk to the DL Hotel, then back. We've had good and not so great character interaction here.

We personally like Minnie's better. The food is good and the character interaction is too. The biggest plus is that it's right there in the parks :thumbsup2 Minnie's is also quite a bit less expensive, which is a good thing.

Either way, you'll have a fun time :yay:

Thanks for your advice.

Both seem great. Might talk DH into taking me to both of them

Recent experience with Minnie's leaves me saying "do anything BUT Minnie's". Hubby and son liked the food fine...I thought it was disgusting. Powdered-tasting eggs, heinous potatoes, had a bite of husband's omelette and don't know how they got the eggs that DRY...and they ran out of coffee and ignored those of us trying to ask them to make more for something like 5 minutes...

We didn't even *see* Pooh. It took the full 90 minutes for Hook to finally get around to us. Saw Tigger and White Rabbit off in the distance but they never showed up for us...

As for the vouchers...for Minnie's, unless you're going during their "surcharge" season, i don't see the point. Looking at getawaytoday.com I find 2 adults and 1 child would cost $82. The vouchers include tax and tip.

But Minnie's doesn't charge tip up front, it's up to you to leave it. 2 adults pre-tax was 47.98, one child pre-tax was 11.99. We had a 10% discount of $6, then they added tax after that...it only got up to 58.69 with the tax (add on 6 and tax on that to erase the AP discount).

Paying 82 through GAT doesn't make sense during their normal season, for Minnie's, as far as I can tell.

Does anyone know when the surcharges are in effect? I will be eating at Goofy's in December . Was wondering if they would start the surcharge Thanksgiving week and have it go thru New Year's, or is it just in effect during certain weeks? Like perhaps it starts Thanksgiving week, then goes back to regular price in between Thanksgiving and Christmas week?

I've been to both GK and Minnie & Friends and I have to admit that I like GK a lot better. There was a bigger selection of food and their stuff actually tasted good. Plus, the characters were awesome. Goofy was hilarious and Chip and Dale were really cool too. Although they don't have as many characters as Minnie's, I find their character interaction a lot better.

The food at Minnie's was mediocre at best and there were actually quite a few characters that missed our table (not once but multiple times). I think I saw about 11 characters there but only got to meet 9. GK is a lot better about making sure that the characters make rounds to all the tables.

IMO, I would go to GK on the last day of your trip (especially if you don't have tickets for that day). That way you can still get one last dose of Disney magic before you leave :wizard: Either way, good luck deciding ;)

Goofy's is much better! Better selection of food the characters stayed longer and we got a birthday cake from goofy's and not one for minnies and that is meant to be the birthday place!!:confused3

I dined at both in September. As had been stated earlier, the food at Goofys is far more superior. I found Goofys to be a little inconvient though if you are touring the park on the day that you attend.
I thought the character interaction at Minnie's was excellent. We saw lots of characters and several times each. However, the food at Minnie's was downright terrible. I would compare it to food at a school cafeteria.
