DH and I left our 18 year old boys at home to fend for themselves and we took off to DLR for almost 6 days. We arrived on Sunday and left on the next Saturday. Being Deluxe AP holders we were blocked out on Saturday so we decided to end our trip with breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. At this point I have to say my Disneyland "snowball tendencies" kicked in- Since the PhotoPass Plus package we bought includes the pics from character meals, I thought we had to take full advantage of it. The question came up: would two adults dining alone enjoy a character meal? We decided to give it a try. DH loves breakfast food so that's why we chose Goofy's.
Goofy's Kicthen is in the Disneyland Hotel next to Steakhouse 55. You can also enter from the outside, just to the left of the check in area.
You check in and pay here and have your picture taken with Goofy in front of a kitchen background just to the left. We arrived for our 7:30am reservation and we warmly greeted by several people.
After the picture they take you to your table and a server will take your drink order. The glasses of juice are large and were refilled as needed. We were seated in a smaller corner of the restaurant near one other family. I wondered if we would be forgotten over there, but we weren't.
Breakfast at Goofy's is really brunch and I had heard there would be a lot choices but I didn't realize how many!
The right half of the hot food station. Different types of eggs were available.
The salad area. Also had green salad and lots of toppings.
The pizza area including the famous peanut butter and jelly pizza. I didn't try it though so can't say how it was.
And of course, the Mickey waffles!
Some desserts and cinnamon rolls.
The Oreo Mousse bars on the left were heavenly! My favorite thing there!
Soft serve ice cream was available with a variety of more unusual toppings.
An overview of part of the buffet.
The decorations are cute.
My first plate of food. I just took small amounts of different things so I would have room to try more. Over all the food was pretty good. I say good but not spectacular. The cinnamon rolls were a little dry and the potatos were harder than I liked. But with so many choices it would be hard not to find something yummy and it was fun to try different things. Like I said earlier, my favorite was the Oreo Mousse and I wished I had saved room for a second!
Now that we had our food, I wondered how the character interaction would be for two adults dining alone in the corner. Well, we spent about an hour there and we met every single character who was roaming the restaurant at that time. We took pictures with Baloo, Alice, Mulan, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. Often DH and I took turns taking pictures of each other but several times other people around offered to take our picture together. We didn't spend more than a minute with each character, but that is really all we wanted. We didn't need autographs, we just got fun pictures. We chatted a little and then they moved on.
Towards the end of our meal we were given our photo package that was included with our PhotoPass Plus. It was a cute booklet filled with recipe cards and pockets for our photos. One big one and several smaller. And, of course, we still had the digital copies on our PhotoPass card.
When we left, the people at the check in area asked how our meal was and wished us a good day. As we were leaving at 8:30am it began to get crowded so I was glad we went at 7:30am. We weren't ignored or made to feel like we didn't matter as much because we didn't have kids with us. I can now reccomend Goofy's Kitchen for a couple looking to add a little extra Dinsey magic (and probably a lot of Dinsey calories) to their trip.
