goofy's kitchen dinner late seating kid friendly?

We arrive at our hotel at 6 pm (if everything runs on time) we will need to go out for dinner that night. I was hoping to arrange a reservation for the 8 pm seating at Goofy's kitchen. We have had breakfast there before and were thrilled with the character interaction. Will the late dinner interaction be the same? I have 5 kids ranging from 5 years to 16 and want to have a little disney magic before we get started in the park.

So is the late seating at Goofy's kitchen still going to be a magical experience for kids?

I don't know....we had breakfast there once and the interaction was terrible. I think it just depends on where they put you (we saw tons of characters but only 3 came to our table).

We eat at Goofy's almost every trip, and always have fabulous interaction, even when seated all the way in the back, almost by ourselves.
However, this has always been for breakfast, and we are also trying dinner out for the first time next month. Are you not able to book an earlier seating? Like 7ish?

I'm worried if the plane is delayed or there is an issue checking in that a 7 o'clock seating might be a bit rushed 730 might work though

We were at Goofy's two weeks ago for dinner. Our reservation was at 6pm and we left around 730pm. The interaction was great and had a good time. When we left, some new characters came out and we did not get to meet them. So I would say you will have a good time there.
