Which do you prefer Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast or dinner?? And why??? Also on that note i have seen quite a few pictures of the food from the buffet and they had a mix of breakfast and dinner foods?? Is this normal?? Is it only at certain times of the day or week. Thanks for sharing your experiences..

The photos you probably saw were the ones from Disneynerd420's TR (I always post a link to his Goofy's photos because they are so extensive). Those were the breakfast/brunch photos. Breakfast/brunch serves the same food all morning long - in other words, there is no separate food put out for brunch that isn't there for breakfast. They may swap out some dishes for other ones at certain times of year but basically it's the same things all the time. Along with the expected foods, they have things like pizza, hot dogs, cold cuts and chicken. It's a huge buffet. Dinner is huge too, but nobody ever seems to take photos of the dinner items!!

Anyway, I prefer breakfast/brunch over dinner because I'm more of a breakfast person. I'm generally not hungry enough for a buffet by dinner time. Also, breakfast is cheaper than dinner. But there are certainly people who have said on the DIS that they like dinner better.

I like their breakfast much more. We were not hurried, many character visits, hot food, just a great family experience. We always do the 7AM so it does not detract from the park experience.

Hmm, I just booked for a Sat night dinner at GK. Now I am starting to wonder if we should switch to Sun am breakfast ...

Another vote for breakfast. Been for dinner several times and breakfast only once, but breakfast was just such a better experience overall. The vibe was better in the morning for some reason. We did feel less rushed and saw more characters. Even the food quality and freshness seemed a little better.

There was some speculation awhile back that prices for Goofy's Kitchen would increase for the summer months. Anyone know if this has or will be happening?

Increase prices?!?! Oh my god, if they do I guess we'll have to pack our black tie clothing to dine there because the prices are already outrageous .

They always seem to go up during the busy seasons, they did last year.

The character meals have seasonal pricing which basically means that the prices are higher during summer and peak holiday periods. Since we usually only go during those times, those are just the prices as far as we are concerned.

Correct. The current prices at Goofy's (for summer) are the peak season rates. These will also be the rates around the holiday season, and any busy holiday weekends. It's not speculation - they go up seasonally every year, and then drop back down for off-peak times of year. It's normal. Actually, Storytellers Cafe Critter Breakfast does the same thing with its (smaller) buffet.

If that is the case. What are the current rates? Someone mentioned that it was cheaper to get a prepaid voucher from some place (need to go in search of that url again) than paying the summer rates. I'd rather pay directly to Goofy's Kitchen, but if the prepaid voucher is a better deal we will go that route. Bummer that Goofy's Kitchen doesn't honor the AAA 10% discount anymore.

I just went 2 days ago and the price was the same as it was in February.

I say go for Breakfast!

Next time, I think we might try Minnie's!!!

I forget the exact rates, but off-peak season breakfasts are usually $32 and some change per adult (and that's including tax and tip), while the peak season breakfast is about $37 and some change (including tax and tip). They only go about $5 bucks. Dinner, of course, is much more expensive.

I don't know if the vouchers will save you much money during off-peak seasons, but perhaps they are more useful during a time like now, when the rates are at their highest.

According to Disney Dining, the rates went up to peak season rates on June 11th. So if you were there in February and they were $37-ish (including tax and tip) for breakfast, then it must have been close to Presidents Day? They will hike up the rates for holiday weekends and extra busy periods. But they were back down to $32 (including tax and tip) earlier this year.

We have done dinner twice and never felt rushed to leave.. We had wonderful character interaction both times.

We really loved Minnies for breakfast!

Called Disney Dining today. Current adult prices are $29.99 for Breakfast/Brunch and $35.99 for Dinner + taxes/tip. She asked if we were going before August 22nd. Not sure what the prices are after that.

This is exactly what I do as well. I've never done dinner, but my breakfast experience was perfect. And getting in at 7 didn't take any time away from what I planned to spend in the Parks, so it was perfect. Plus, breakfast is cheaper as an added bonus.

It's in my post above (#13). I was giving you the approximate rates including tax and tip. So the $29.99 is pre-tax and tip, but it is a peak season rates. Your actual price (if you paid at Goofy's) right now will be $37 and some change (15% tip and 8.75% tax). Maybe $37.51-ish (give or take a penny) for breakfast per adult. That is the peak season rate. Dinner would be about $45, give or take a penny.

After August 22, I guess it drops back down to off-peak for a while and the total with tax and tip will be $32 and some change for breakfast.

(I've been eating at Goofy's since 1992, and the breakfast used to be $11.00! I've had to get out my calculator many times over the years to figure out the "new" prices. So far, they have held with the same peak season prices and off-peak prices for a couple of years now, without an overall price hike. But they do raise them overall every so often, and eventually - maybe when the economy is better - they will raise the prices overall again.)

You're very welcome, ChickenCarlos! Sorry it took me a while to reply - my PC is giving me endless trouble.

Here is the link to Page 23 of Disneynerd420's TR from Fall of last year - see Posts #338 and #339 for the extensive Goofy's Kitchen breakfast photos:

A few people have taken extensive Goofy's breakfast photos before (the above link is the most recent of the extensive photos), but we have yet to find anyone who has taken equally extensive photos of the Goofy's dinner buffet!

I will try in 19 days! Planning to have dinner at Goofy's on arrival night, July 24th! :goodvibes Will plan to take as many pictures of the buffet as my family will allow! They are used to my taking pictures of our plates but not actually as fond of my taking buffet pics ...
