Well, I just measured DD, 2 1/2, and she meets the 35" height requirement for Goofy's Barnstormer. I was just wondering what other parents thought of this ride? Is it bumpy and rough?? DD has been on POTC, HM and Maelestrom and was not afraid of those rides, but I was wondering if she is too young for this ride. Thanks!!

Our 3 year old daughter who had never ridden any kind of a "rollercoaster" ride before loved Barnstormer. The ride was smooth and predictable, short and sweet. We headed for the ride first thing on the morning she got to pick what she wanted to do, rode it several times before the line started to accumulate. She still talks about it and about how she can't wait to do it again! Right before we left, she let us take her on Splash Mountain, and loved that, too.

Have Fun! :wizard:

My DD was 26 months old last year when we rode this. She loved it! I was scared at first because I was afraid I could not hold on to her good enough, but it was no problem. She still remembers it and talks about riding again!

Our daugther rode this when she was almost three. She loved it. I bet it was her favorite ride. It was smooth enough that my mom could turn around and take pictures.

We just got back from Disney yesterday and my 2 1/2 year old son loved it.
He just kept running back in line. We went on it about 5 times straight until I convinced him to go to try something else.
The ride is a little bumpy but if you hold them close they should be fine.

Have A Great Time !!

Thanks so much for all of the resposes!! Seems like it is a pretty smooth ride...I have a feeling DD will be saying, "Again Mommy....again Mommy!"

We've gone on it as well, and I remember it being pretty bumpy and really liking it. It's short, so sometimes towards closing, the CMs will just ask if you want to go on again and again and again... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I don't know why but my 7 year old didn't like it. She said it was too scarry. I guess because it's high off the ground. I guess it just depends how brave your little one is. My daughter said she wanted to ride Test Track again but not the Barnstormer. :scared1: ????

My DS rode for first time at almost 3. It was a little bumpy and he definitely wanted to be held tight. The drop was bigger than I was expecting, so yes, I screamed like a little girl for a second :rotfl: , but I recovered. When it came to a stop at the end, DS had a real fearful look on his face. I said "did you like it?" He shook his head no, still looked scared, then looked at me and smiled and said "Let's do it again!" :teeth: He actually cried when we got off! Go figure!

We love Barnstormer, and have taken both of our kids about the age of two. However, as the rollercoaster cars approach the station, be sure to hold your kids forehead. There is a rather sharp airbreak release and my daughter smacked her head on the front of our car. She wasn't expecting it and I am not sure she would have had the strength anyway to stop her head. It didn't stop her from going again, but it put her in tears for a bit. You will notice several parents doing the exact same thing! Enjoy, it is a great ride!

My 2 and a half year old daughter loved Barnstormer. She was just 35 inches and my husband and I took her on it in January. It's a very short ride - about a minute in length. Just enough dips and curves to be exciting for little ones, but nothing too scary. My DD loved it and we rode it several more times during our visit.

I took DS who was not quite 2 on it last year and I thought that it was quite rough. He was fine on it, so it could have just been me! :flower:

Do you guys think I can manage this one? I am such a chicken when it comes to rollercoaster and that's why I don't ride them. My son 8 wanted to ride it, but I told him I can't, so we skipped. And I felt bad.. :( Well.. this same way with my daughter, if she feels she is scared to ride it, we don't. But my son is at that age where he wants to try different things. We rode Woodywood pecker and The Flying Unicorn and I survived it and he loved it and my daughter wasn't too thrilled about it, but she is fine with it. so, do you think I can handle this one?

Fantasia - You really should try the Barnstormer. It's the most fun little rollercoaster. You shouldn't have any problems. I was a big chicken with roller coasters, but figured I've done Space Mountain, BTMR and even RnR Coaster so the Barnstormer was a breeze. I did this with my DH and my 19 yo DN and her boyfriend last year for the first time. We had sooo much fun! It's the only coaster I've put my hands in the air during the ride. :Pinkbounc

Well now I don't feel so silly! I read about all of the kids riding and here I am, a full grown kid (age not necessary :earboy2: ) and I got one look at the ride and said, "Oh, I don't think so" and headed for the Teacups! I would love to try this ride but am not sure if I should take a Valium beforehand ( :rotfl2: ).

My 3-year-old sister went on the barnstormer and she had a great time. It's definitely a good first coaster for kids who may want to go on BTMRR and SM later on.

Well, we just got back from a quick trip to Disney while DH attended a conference in Orlando. DD was so excited to ride the "airplane," but when I went to measure her against the height pole she was about an inch too short. There was a CM standing right there and she said, nope, she's too small. Funny thing was that I saw a bunch of mothers hurrying into the line with children smaller than my dd. I'd rather be safe than sorry though. I have to say I am a chicken too, so I think I would scream before my dd did! Hoping to try again in August when DD turns 3.

I took my little 3yo friend on this - she was a little apprehensive and it wasn't her favourite (but her mother freaked out when I took her on the DL version years ago - that was when mum was about 25 yo, so it may run in the family!!)

I have sometimes been the one of the first on the ride for the day (yes, I'm a geek) and have had the pleasure of having Goofy ride with us.

One very cold, very empty day Goofy rode three times with a little girl who was dressed in a white faux fur coat. She obviously felt sooooooooo special to keep riding over and over (no other guests!)

We were at WDW Aug 2003. At the time my DD was 2 1/2. She was so excited that she was tall enough to ride that she wanted to ride. She had no idea what it was. As we stood in line we watched the ride. She said she still wanted to ride it.

It got to be our turn. She still wanted to ride but she said, "I want to sit with you, daddy." We rode it and it was great. She enjoyed it. She said it was a little scary, but she liked it.

Now that she's a "big girl", she not only wants to ride GBS again, but she wants to tackle BTMRR and SM as well.
