Goofy's Barnstormer for almost 3yr old?

I was wondering what all of your experiences have been with this ride for your kids. My almost 3 yr old is tall enough to ride but I am fearful that he may freak out once he gets on the ride. I realize each child is different and that I will have to ultimately wait until we get there before deciding if it is somethin DS wants to do.... but I was just interested in how other kids have reacted to this ride. Thanks a bunch!!!

When we went in '97 our son had just turned three two months earlier. He loved it! You probably won't know for sure until your kid rides it though. Kids can be SO different!

My ds went on last year and he had just turned 2, he loved it. He just made the height requirement.

The ride is over so quickly that even if he freaked out a little, it would be almost over.

My DS just turned 3 last year @ WDW. He rode the barnstormer several times and loved it. It is a very quick ride.

My 3 yo DS didn't freak out, but he definitely didn't like it. One thing to consider is that it is pretty high up off the ground, compared to most other kiddie coasters. HTH

When my DD was 3 she decided not to ride when we were in line. When my DS was 3 he had picked this ride out of the guidebook as the ride he most wanted to do. He rode with a terrified look on his face and after it was over he said he loved it. I'm still not sure he wasn't trying to save face in front of his older sisters.

My DD was 2year 3 months when she went on it for the first time and she LOVED it. It all depends on your child. Let him see it then decide.

My timmid 3 yr old surprized us by wanting to go on this ride. He loved it and talks about it all the time.

During our last visit, my daughter was almost 3 and Barnstormer was one of her favorite rides. One night when there was no line, I think she rode it 5 times in a row!!!

With that said, my daughter is fearless. We haven't found a ride that she didn't want to ride or that she was scard of. But I don't think Barnstormer is too bad. If he really pushes that he wants to go on it...go for it. It may turn out to be a favorite!

What is the height requirement for Goofy Barnstormer? DD will be 2 1/2 when we go in Dec., but she is already 36.5 inches tall? I was just wondering if she would be tall enough to ride in Dec.

The height requirement is 35" tall, so your DD should be good to go! Have fun!!

When my 4-yr-old DD was just tall enough, she went on Goofy's Barnstormer. She let out on scream that lasted the entire ride. I don't know how she was breathing! When the ride stopped, I asked her it was and she said great!!!

My soon-to-be 3-yr-old DD hopes to ride in January.

The ride is very short so even if your DS doesn't like the ride, it will be over quickly. If you think he wants to go but may not fare so well, do the ride later in the day. If he freaks out, he may not want to go on any other rides.

It all depends on the kid. Both my (at the time) "just turned 2" year old and my "almost 4" year old rode it on our last trip. My oldest said "THIS IS TOO FAST FOR ME!!!!!!" within seconds of it starting. Didn't cry, just didn't want to do it again. My 2 year old laughed through the whole thing and rode it 3 times in a row before we carried him kicking and screaming away from it.

The good thing is that you can see the entire ride from the queue area so he will be able to watch it a few times and decide if it looks OK. Like others have said, it's over very quickly too.

I think that 3 is a pretty good age for the barnstormer
. All the kids that I have taken to WDW went on the barnstormer around three years old.

My son will be three in 2 weeks and we took him back in May. He was right up under me the whole time and held on pretty tight. I think he was too shocked to scream or cry. But as someone else said, the ride is very short. The first drop is bigger than I anticipated...let's just say that Mom gave a little scream...anyway, when it was over, I asked him if he liked it. He looked at me with a very concerned look, shook his head and whimpered...no. Then about 10 seconds of silence went by and he said..."Let's do it again!" He cried when we had to get off. I'd give it a try with you child. You'll never know til you do and if they don't like it, it won't last long, and you'll know not to try again for a while! Have fun!:thewave:

My DD turned 3 last month. She rode it and LOVED it. My almost 5 year old son won't get near it. It really just depends on the child.

My just turned 2 year old loved it last summer. I would let him see the ride from the outside and decide for himself.

And I would definitely not make it the first ride of the day--if it's a negative experience he may refuse to ride anything.
